I'm going through a similar issue with my grandfather.
All it took was for someone to tell him about the "wonders of blogging"...ugh.
The problem is that you don't want to crush anyone's hopes, but you also want to give them a realistic picture.
So unless you have the patience of a saint, I would recommend giving him a few internet marketing courses (like the new affiloblueprint course) that's going to break everything down and explain it to him in a newbie friendly way. Not only will this free up some of your time so that you can continue to work on your own projects but a few courses will help give him a solid foundation in IM (plus he'll know why its unrealistic to think he can rank for "cheap cars" lol) .
