I'd add a secondary channel. Don't start over, just funnel traffic over slowly to the sister channel. And then eventually you'll have 2 channels with 200 subs, and as long as you are active, you'll be able to promote each other and gain more subs that way. Just reupload your content or make double the content (helps even more with gaining subs)
You'd have to find a niche, use the same strategy as in finding people to promo to now using it to find channels to purchase, and then contact as many as possible. Then you'd find the best candidates and you can purchase them if they pass inspection with escrow and voila. You can go from there. Having 2 sister channels would really help from the get go, so purchasing 2 mid-sized channels instead of 1 large channel would be the best route to take. Then you can grow the amount of subs pretty quickly with proper marketing. I think honestly for most bigger channels, you can expect to make ROI within 3-6 months, if not sooner. And then every few months you'd double your ROI, and it would eventually hit natural exponential growth. From there, the steps to an empire lay right in front of you. Initial investment really helps you just dominate quicker and it is one of the best investments you could make. I'd invest in YT channels over stocks anyday.

What I struggle with is still how youtube ranking actually works.
Which keywords to use, how to find the right keywords, tags, description. What keywords give you actually money and what not. I didn't find any knowledge so far and it is hard to reverse engineer youtubes ranking behaviour. I also wanted to create a new channel, but still don't know with what to go. Also how to upload thousands of youtube videos in 1 day? That is simply insane lol. What I am struggling is, to find good keywords which can actually rank. It needs tons of time to research videos and find the right sub-niche and keywords. So how to do all that?

I got your point, but exactly what do you mean by "pass inspection"? Never used escrow for a payment, do you got some advices to avoid getting scammed?

Tube Buddy helps with automating certain things and you definitely want to make use of Youtube's own tools like scheduling, but for the most part I never needed to use any tools for YT. Now IG is a different story, but I just never needed to automate certain processes. For example, maybe uploading hundreds of videos takes a while.. but I'd use a three monitor setup and just copy/paste certain bits and pieces here and there, then also there'd be the YT Defaults I'd set, and I'd edit the rest. I don't fully trust programs to copy/paste and personalize messages and descriptions, as sometimes they goof up. And if one video goes viral and it's done wrong, you know, loss of time and money right there. There's been moments though that I've bought outsourced help though. Very cheap asian labor to work on the extremely repetitive tasks. However I'm pretty anal about personalizing everything, as you want to build the bond with the viewers as strong as possible.
MCN's aren't what they used to be, that's for sure. I would advise against it, unless you're in a niche that really needs it. As in most of your content can't be monetized otherwise. And then honestly I can't give stellar advice on which MCN is the best as of this very moment, however I'd look at socialblade's top 250 networks and look at the big names and decide for yourself after doing research. (For example: Fullscreen, Maker, Machinima, BBTV, Curse, TGN, etc.)
My experiences with networks for the most part were good, however I did have some trouble every now and then. But it used to be better back in the good ol' days. I've worked with Machinima, BroadBandTV, ZoominTV, TGN, and a few other smaller ones.
No one knows fully how the YT system works. I certainly don't. TubeBuddy helps me determine how strong a keyword is and it gives recommendations from there. Also if you partner with MCN's, for example BBTV's Viso also helps you determine the strength and can help you out.
And it's just straight hustling. Prepare yourself with default tags and descriptions, a fast internet connection and computer, multiple monitors, and just hours of pumping out content. If it's too repetitive, at that point you could hire outsourced work for very cheap or use bots (although as stated above, I'm not really all for that)

Escrow will help place the channel in your arms and it'll help prevent chargebacks if you'd ever sell your channel. It's better to go this route than just exchanging without, even though it'll cost you a little. Of course do your due diligence, as there will be plenty of scammers who may either try and get your money through straight lies or they'll fake some stats or never give you the channel without escrow. And to pass inspection, you'll have to ask for all details. Find out the analytics, whether the channel has any strikes or copyrighted content, how long it's been up for and has it been partnered with any networks (if so, which? and are they locked into contracts?) and double check the stats on socialblade and just figure out whether the person you are going to buy from is trustworthy or not. Integrity counts here.

I'd try to keep going with it if it has 2K subs, as that's still a nice number to work with. Test it out. Upload over the next 3 days some quality stuff and if you get at least a fraction of the subs to engage, boom, you're good to go. I'd keep going with the CS:GO videos so that you could at least sell it for a tiny bit or make some money to prepare you for a music channel. Don't let it just go to waste, unless you literally have zero passion for it.
That's awesome that I was able to inspire you to go even further. It's going to be a long and rough journey, but definitely worth it in the end. 38's still better than none, right? Start promoting on reddit, twitter and forums and you'll be good to go in no time. When you get a few thousand subscribers, you'll be pretty happy and it'll only motivate you to keep going even more.

I am an electronic musician and recently realised the power of youtube, so I decided to start getting serious with it and grow my personal channel. This post was definitely an inspiration! My plan is to release my own music regularly, and at the same time produce interesting music related and personal content to make the channel more interesting, personal and active (since only producing and posting a song a day, although possible, would be a stretch in terms of quality). The initial focus is to grow an active fan base, as I think that it is single most important thing for an artist, once you get that, the monetisation strategies are infinite. Any advices or thoughts from your experience?
Also, I have a growing IG following, which is very engaged and targeted, so would use this at my advantage to promote the YT channel. How would you go to promote effectively the channel via IG? I am thinking posting snippets of new videos and then point to the youtube channel. And also mass dm my following, or would that look too spammy?
Anyway, would love to connect with you, I am into music making, you are into music promotion. It sounds like a good match for a future collaboration
