How to grow a personal/comedian page?

So I started my personal/comedy page where i post original comedy content of myself which I believe are top notch, however i've only grew 4.9k followers in 3 months mainly through follow/unfollow (i used to grow 180+ followers a day following around 1.2k (shitty ik) but i decided to abandon follow/unfollow cus i believe that i only get inactive followers and only do likes. but then again i only gain 10 followers a day not counting the unfollows i get.

so what are your tips to gain exposure? i have tried engagement groups but it doesn't help much.
what are your thoughts on using several minion accounts to comment and dm driving traffic to my main? (thats an age old method) but it might work?
