[HOW] To Get Unlimited Fresh IPs on your Computer Using iPhone Tethering

Most of att mobile ip's are softblocked. About 90percent and the other 10 will cause ghosting.

Would it be possible to reset the connection from your pc? This would be a killer tactic, rather then having to manually change it from your phone.

Trust me, this was AWESOME about a year to two years ago. I loved it! Posted hundreds of ads a day with my ATT Tilt which had an unlimited data plan for $40 a month. But like air cards this tactic gives you a huge pool of soft blocked IP's. And yes, you will have a good ghosting rate too. But I guess if you have no other choice this is a good starter option thanks to the easy steps laid out. When I tethered my Tilt I created a dial up connection through win networking (like a dial up connection) and the number to dial was #99 and simple disconnecting and reconnecting through the dialup connection I created refreshed the IP. I was using Ad Master at the time and it worked flawlessly.

Haverhill: Your firmware is outdated

You need to:

Install itunes (if you haven't already)
Download the iPhone firmware 3.x

-this should fix your problem.

I updated my Iphone to 3.X. However, I wasn't be able to find "Internet Tethering" on Network. Here are what I saw Enable 3G; Data Roaming; VPN; Wi-Fi. What did I do wrong?
Please advise.
Thanks

Anyone have any ideas on if something similar to this could be achieved with an Android phone?

Good bye to another method. Got any other tricks to share with craig? You do realize these ip's will be blocked in short notice now. There are reasons why people don't post about methods like this.

Is there way of doing this with blackberry curve 8900 on unlimited data plan?

does any know if att checks for this?
i heard that can detect if you're tethering and may issue you warnings or charge for this as they rolled out a tethering data plan.

CL has known about the 3G IPs since they started soft-blocking aircards/mobile 3g cards. BTW, I didn't post this in the CL section for a reason.

CL posting isn't the only activity that requires switching IPs.

There's always a way ;)

I did some Googling and found this: (haven't tested)

If it works, share it here

I have been using this method for over 4 months, with some (irresponsibly)heavy data usage in the first few weeks after trying this out. Not once have I received a call, text, or additional charge on my bill regarding tethering. That being said, I was unaware of the tethering data plan so thanks for sharing that.

Before you jump into this, you should first determine if AT&T has 3G coverage in your area. If you call and ask AT&T, chances are they're going to say YES even if there is intermittent connectivity. So, the best way to find out for sure, is to ask nieghbors or people who live nearby that use AT&T. I get a full 3G signal and average download speed is around 180kbps through AT&T in my area.

To answer your second question, yes, they do offer an unlimited data plan.

If you found the post helpful don't forget to hit the "Thanks" buttons ;)

Well, this works for now but don't hold your breath...

My guess is AT&T is going to see how many people do this, and if it's really popular when the next upgrade comes out BAM! they'll eliminate the hook - but announce tethering as an add-on to the data plan.

For $50/month

hey iv'e been posting with my eternity for some time now but this is still a good post for the ones who didn't know about it

if you happen to have an hyperlan connection you can switch your ip in 3 seconds flat just clicking a button in your router (so it can be automated)
