How to get Legit Backlinks?

Ive been working and learning Web design and SEO for about 3 months now and it feels like i am late to the party. Iv learned quite alot from what iv read on the forum here, but it seems all this info iv gathered is hard to tell if it useful or not. I have read alot on the forums on Backlinks and it seems people are very vague on how to get back links.

My questions
1.Is there a ratio of pagerank vs amount of backlinks - meaning does 100 PR1 backlinks have the same value as 10 PR2 Backlinks.

2.What type of backlinks are most fruitful? Ive heard many theories on guest blogging,press releases,blog commenting,referrals.

3.How many backlinks can you have from one site before it hurts you?

4.My final question , When seeking out a site for a backlinks, what are some factors come into play while looking?


I understand why people withhold certain info to protect their profit but i cant seem to find info on things that are very needed.

Also im sorry for asking so many questions at once.I hope this wasn't too long!

I dont believe there is any kind of ratio and if it was it would not be accurate because PR is no longer updated.

The best type of backlink is contextual, it passes the most link juice.

The important things to look at when seeking links is CF and TF. PA and DA also give you a good idea but they can manipulated easy.

For white hat do you use any tools? Like how do you find these back links?

Is it acceptable to use Scraperbox and GSA?

I understand somewhat about domain authority,page authority,citation flow, trust flow.

That's a tough question because the algorithm always fluctuations.

I only add natural backlinks manually and it was nice to seo.

Create a referral program where you offer something for free.
People will spread their ref (your website) for you.
Oldest in the book. Super effective. Just look at what other people are doing.

amount of backlinks can be millions but as long as they are from quality adn authority domains nothing shady link link farms, sidebar links, footer links or something like that

Get a tool like backlinkbeast , rankbuilder or Article Marketing Robot. Create a good linkwheel of high PR like pinterest, facebook, google+ etc. Look into Interestarchitect to find targeted facebook fanpage leads

I think for white hat, you can search on Google for related websites in your niche and contact the webmaster to see if they would like to exchange links. You can also guest blog.

1. PR is dead, so no more logic on this and these days people are looking for DA and PA sites.
2. Build relevant links and count forum signatures too.
3.We can have as many as, but you should we are lossing some backlinks everymonth. Few of the sites go nofollow, or removes links, etc.

Just focus upon content syndication and get backlinks from real sites that enjoy good rankings and traffic volumes.
