How to get featured on Google top stories

I have a news site with some bolg post as well on a specific niche. I am loosing a lot of traffic as most of my competitors are getting featured on Google stories and taking away visitors from me.
Is there any structure i need to follow to get my site featured on Google top stories?

Have you met their requirements at all? AFAIK you need to have AMP. Just google "AMP HTML Specification" and check if you have it.

Install Amp and write it as per google news and if it’s relevant you’ll feature there

Yes, i have amp enabled. Do i need to submit my site to google publication?
