google top stories

Paid or free, do you have any resources about this? Nothing seems to be clear about it, besides that having a Google News account and authority. But there are many bad sites featured there that make think that there should be other way to incentive Google to promote our site. What you think?

I have a news site with some bolg post as well on a specific niche. I am loosing a lot of traffic as most of my competitors are getting featured on Google stories and taking away visitors from me. Is there any structure i need to follow to get my site featured on Google top stories?
