How to get easily a link from an authority site

Hi there,

This is my way of getting easily links back from authority websites:

It takes a bit of time, but it's worth it.
When you start your webpage, start it first like a real informative website, no ads, banners whatsoever. Just useful information about the subject. Than contact the guys from the authority site that you would like a link from, tell them you've got this nice site and make up a nice story about how cool they are and that without them earth would be like one of Dante's seven layers of hell.

At the same time try to get your site on Dmoz*, nothing to do with Auth. sites but it helps a lot in your linking power struggle. Could take some time, but it's worth it.

After you've done all of this, and you've got a re: back from the auth. site(s, yes more than one of course) and your link has been approved by Dmoz (could take a hellish long time), wait a few weeks, add more nice content, than start adding your banners and ads. Build this up slowly.

Et voila!

* Why I tell you guys about Dmoz, well because IN MY experience it's harder to get an approval from Dmoz when your website has ads on it. So when you apply your add free website they don't have an excuse of denying you a place.

Hmmmm...Let me think of something easier to do:

- Getting someone on the phone at Google and having them explain why you were banned.

or

- Getting Steve Jobs to on the phone to personally help you write an iphone app.

Anyone else think of others?

its easier to become an editor at DMOZ then it is to get a site listed.

So DMOZ was really a pain in the ass

You can also try LFE. Some WPMU sites with high PR are in their database. You can create blogs there and create a link to your site.

I got listed in dmoz for a duplicate content news site with adsense. The link really made a difference, and the site ended up making $100 a day - before it was slammed by manual review!

Well there you have it, Dmoz could be easy. But most of the times it's hard cus of the editors sitting there. Most of the times they have been beaten up too many times at school. So now they feel that they have to abuse their power position to at least someone on the web, cus in real life, they still get beaten up

Yeah.... pfff.... I've got a real Dmoz trauma...

I DID read the *.

re: getting a GF - I didn't lose my virginity until I was 22. It took me 22 years to get laid. THAT was easier than getting listed on DMOZ.

I have been trying to get DMOZ approved for ages and still cannot manage it so I added all my banners and ads anyway

what about before posting a link on dmoz.org, become an editor of a specific category at dmoz. Then you become responsible for adding links to the special dmoz category. Then you post your link and you approve the link yourself....

Got this idea after submitting a link to dmoz, because then this text appeared on dmoz
"Consider becoming an editor and maintaining a category. The Open Directory has a comprehensive set of tools for adding, deleting, and updating links in seconds. For just a few minutes of your time you can help make the Web a better place, and be recognized as an expert on your chosen topic"

I was looking through the quality of the sites the other day. I was surprised how poor the quality of some sites were.

Im guessing most of the sites getting accepted now are editors + friends of editors.

Your best bet is to suck ass like the rest of them or apply and take your 10000/1 chance
