Hello everyone,

We’re currently using the Facebook Ad Library to monitor ads through their API, but we’re facing a challenge. While the library provides links to the ads, these links don’t allow us to track or monitor engagement (likes, comments, shares) for our competitors’ campaigns. This makes it difficult for us to analyze how their audience is interacting with their ads.

Does anyone know if there’s a way to access the original ad link or any method to monitor engagement from competitors’ ads? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Hello, I'm not sure if you can do it through the API, but it's better to buy a plan from ad spy tools they can provide all the information you need.

Thanks do you have some in mind ? All those I tried were refering to facebook ads library ; maybe https://www.adspy.com/ was doing the job for some of them but not sure yet, need to make a month just to have the answer I get.

Yes. This is a common challenge when using the Facebook Ads Library API. It is true that this API mainly provides information about ad presence rather than detailed engagement data.

There is no way to see the reach details of your competitors ads you have to use third party tools to help

Through API, it is not certain that you can see all the information of your competitors' ads. You can use another application on a third party provider to get the full information.

Thank you for your replies, but which 3rd party tools would you have in mind ?

Unfortunately, the Ad Library API doesn’t provide access to real-time engagement data. To monitor likes-comments, you’d need the original post ID, sometimes tools like CrowdTangle or manual scraping can help if the ad is also a page post.
