I'm not sure if this is published allready but I'm sure some of you will find it useful. Basically this is a step for step guide on how to easily find high PR d0foll0w blogs without worrying about getting your site penalized. If you find it useful, please thank me and then follow my SEO Journal here at BHW.

    1) Choose all your competitors working with blog comments.

    2) Find all their pages (site:domain.com)

    3) Remove duplicate pages

    4) Find backlinks for all of their pages (link:domain.com/url/)

    5) Remove duplicate domains

    6) Remove malware

    7) Filter out pages with more than 80+ external links

    8) Check domain pagerank

    9) Filter out PR lower than 4

    10) Manually check if d0foll0w and filter out all nofollow

    11) Combine list with your previous lists - might want to have one for new and one for old

    12) Find all pages with open comments for each and every domain (site:domain.com footprint)

    13) Check URL pagerank to know which one you should comment on

    13) Manually write genuin blog comments to make sure it's white hat

    14) Find new sites in the comments and do the same thing all over again

This will take some time but remember that a high PR d0foll0w link is worth so much more than hundreds of PR0 nofollow posts spammed by hundreds of other people. Those can actually do more harm than good.

Wondering how many backlinks you need to take the first spot on search engines? Check my thread on how to analyze your competitors.

This will obviously differ depending on which sites you choose. But to give you an example I just measured the time and it took me roughly 2 hours to go through the list above and end up with 34 sites with d0f0ll0w and a pagerank between 6 to 8. Note that I excluded the time when Scrapebox automatically searched for backlinks and checked PR since I was resting in the sun.

Say you find 20 PR6+ sites and do this every day for just one week. Then you could end up with 140 PR6+ high quality backlinks. How many sites in a small niche can compete with that?

Remember that you just have to do it once and then reuse all your findings on your new sites.

Thinking about it this would actually be one hell of an e-book on how to dominate a small niche.

If you want to save yourself some time, it might be a good idea to add "comment" as a footprint when searching for backlinks (comment link:domain.com/url/) to filter out all pages without comments. Will save you a lot of time if one of the sites build backlinks with forum profiles.

I use Scrapebox to automatically find the potential blog posts and then save them in Excel before going through the list and commenting manually.

Call me crazy, but there's Scrapebox "d0 follow /No Follow Check" addon that you can just download...isn't that a more simple way?

I would suggest to let no-d0foll0w (a small %), like this it looks more natural in Google eyes.
