Hi
I've buildup a website with different categories like business, tech, health, etc. Now I'm doing content planning.
Could you please give ideas about how to do keyword research for this kind of multi-niche site? Really appreciate your help on content planning.

just like you'd do research for a niche website: plop the seed keyword of each category into your favorite SEO tool (Ahrefs, Semrush, KeywordTitan, whatever...) and then narrow the keywords down until you find easy keywords, then write content around those keywords, publish the content, get it indexed, and if you don't rank where you want within 1 month start building links to that content until you rank

Unless your budget is massive, I don't see the point of such audacity. It's going to be a massive waste of time and money.

You'll need to do keyword research for each niche, one keyword at a time.

For keyword research,Google's keyword planner tool is the best.

You should pick a seed keyword, search for low difficulty keywords using GSC, Ahrefs, Semrush, etc., and then write content around those keywords.
Totally. Using GSC. ahrefs and semrush is a wise choice and a reliable option

Keyword research is the most important thing in SERP. There are lots of way to find out your exact keyword research. So, you should use this to get your prospect.

Just focus on each niche separately would be better to go. Before that just do some keyword research and pick the best keywords which are suits for your niches.

You can approach this from various angles. I recommend that you use Keywords Everywhere Extension and on top of that use Answerthepublic.com.

Make a list of all the low competitive keywords from there and start checking their results manually to know how competitive is the SERPs.

Why are you trying to build a general site in the first place? Do you plan on turning it into a guest-post selling business?

I highly recommend you stick to one broad niche at max.

Reason: Because generally, the more you narrow down, the more Google considers you as an Authority on that topic. (They have said it multiple times in their guidelines)

Coming to your actual question- You should treat your site as a combination of multiple niche sites while doing kw research.

So make categories for all the broad niches you plan on posting about (e.g. music, news, health) and then follow the strategies discussed here for each individual niche.

I use Ahrefs to analyze keyword difficulty and determine whether they are easy or difficult to rank for. Additionally, it allows me to see the keywords that my competitors are targeting.
