How to combat impersonators?

One of my clients got scammed by an impersonator on Telegram today, even though I had provided the correct profile link in the thread. Out of curiosity I decided to check 10-15 Telegram usernames that have marketplace threads here and reached out via Telegram.

And guess what? Around 90% of them had impersonators on Telegram too.I'm not sure how to deal with this situation. It's not only the buyers who are losing out but sellers as well.

Should buyers be more careful and check usernames properly before dealing on Telegram or should sellers just stop using Telegram for sales?

This is the easiest way to prevent anything like what you mentioned above from happening again to you or anyone else.

Misspelled/Similar TG Username is the oldest trick in the book. This also happens on Skype but over there, the scammer is unable to delete chat-logs so they rather use TG.
