I want to create a website, that I can use for different purposes, mainly I thought about ad arbitrage, though a bit of organic traffic would not be bad.
How do you guys choose a niche?
Is it personal preference, prior knowlede or just the one that has least competitors.

I am glad for every reply
Thanks

The best way to choose a niche is to focus on a topic you know a lot about and build a website that doesn’t just look like an informational niche.

What skills or knowledge do you have? Maybe I can give you some ideas.

this.
stick to what you know.
ull spend less time researching and the content will actually provide value and not just keyword stuffing.

There is some things.
I am an IT Expert with good knowledge in networking and server management.
As far as hobbies go I really like fishing, Cars (one model in particular) and we'll making money online...

Pick a niche that corresponds to your interests, but also refine what nuance you can focus on that isn't too high in competition. If you're the billionth person doing a basic site on weight loss, forget it, you won't make money, unless you drill down to find aspects of the topic that are under covered, in good demand, and for which you have a product/service to push.

You can choose by passion and/or profit i.e. one of the big 'money' niches.
And as another member pointed out, choosing a niche you have good knowledge or experience in helps a lot because you'll understand your audience on a deeper level, which in turns enable you to communicate/market/sell more effectively to them.
