Hello fellow Blackhatworld members! I decided to write this post today because I hate my day job and have made a decision to once again put forth a great deal of effort to see if I can change the future!
Here's the situation:
I currently make around $200 a month with Adsense. (Give or take $30-$90, it fluctuates ) This has been going on for about a year now and It's not bad but I think it's time to step it up! My main website makes the majority of the income ($90-$230/month), while a small micro-niche site makes the rest ($10-40$/month) The main site has a pagerank of 3 with some interior pages having pageranks of 1, 2 and 3 also. The site has about 270 original articles on it, get's 15-20k visitors a month and around 40,000 pageviews.
I use All-in-one SEO pack with wordpress, the articles also focus on specific keywords but I'm sure they could be better. I use google xml sitemaps and ping all of my posts so they get indexed quickly. I use SEO SearchTerms Tagging 2 to add keyword density to each page and see what terms are being used to find the page. I use a bunch of other things too but these are the ones I thought I would mention. I also post links to the articles on social networks like twitter, facebook, digg, stumbleupon, reddit, ect. On occasion I'll write an ezine and link to an article on the site but not much. A few big sites have linked to me in the past like thedailymail.co.uk but it's only happened a couple times.
The majority of my traffic comes from the search engines, in fact 69% of it does.
Now that you know where I currently stand, here is the ultimate question. What needs to be done to advance beyond $200 a month.
I know content is king and keeping a site full of new original content is one of the best things to do but what else can be done.
I keep thinking Backlinks is what will help but not just any backlinks, High PR relevant backlinks with Anchor Tags. What is the best way to go about getting high quality backlinks that are relevant quickly? And how much will this help traffic and income?Don't get me wrong, the site has backlinks but not enough.
Or is there something else i can do to push the site over that $200 a month mark. I currently only use Adsense to make this income. Is there a better method? The site is a current events, news, information, media website. I know selling adspace works well for some but I think that requires more traffic than the site currently receives (40-50k page views a month).
Any advice or information on how to push above the $200 a month mark would be greatly appreciated and I'm sure there are other members on the forum who would like to hear it also!!
I will also respond to any questions anyone here has for me. Thanks for reading.
