I finally figured out a method of automating digital delivery of my ebooks/software etc. on ebay after item is paid for. If they paid to have the physical item shipped, then that would still need to be done in addition to the digital delivery anyway.
Here are the step by step instructions:
1: Set up an inkfrog account (no affiliation)- it has a free trial, then it's under $10/mo after that for unlimited ebay ids
2: For each item that you want to be delivered digitally, upload it to the storage location of your choice - your website, mediafire, etc... then copy the download url.
3: Log into your inkfrog account - go to preferences - auto emails - new template
4: Name the template with the corresponding ebay id & name of the product (Craigslist ebook, etc...) so that it is easy to identify, enter the reply to email address associated with that ebay id, edit any of the other notification templates with what you want them to say, then scroll down to "payment received email" - edit that to include the download link you copied from step 2 - then save & close
5: Create a new listing, towards the bottom in the Post Auction Rules section, put a check next to 'I want to send a winning bidder email to my buyers', then select the template from the drop down that matches your listing.
* Don't forget to set up auto-relist rules to further automate it
* On a privacy side note, if you have multiple ebay ids, you can set them all up under your one account, but keep 3 things in mind:
1- make sure you use a new ip address, clear cookies, lso's etc, when you add a new ebay id to generate the ebay token
2- do not use the inkfrog gallery, always use external urls for your images (something like photobucket)
3- when you create a listing, or a listing profile, make sure to use the correct paypal address for the ebay id you selected at the top of the listing page
That's all I can think of for now. I hope someone can benefit from this information.
One thing I haven't figured out is, how to use more than 1 message for auto feedback.... anybody?
