How to approach SEO for E-shop?

Hello, I will try to keep it short and get to the point :)

What would you do, if you would start brand new e-shop under a fresh new domain and would want to start doing SEO?

I get ideas like killer product descriptions, killer category text, kw research and then doing backlinks..

But I'm wondering, how would you approach it..

- Would you start doing backlinks on the category pages so the juice is going on it and on the products as well?
- Is it safe to start doing link building from day one?
- Any ideas what would you do?
- What would benefit me most? Spying on the competition and copying their link portfolio?

If you can share some knowledge under this thread, it would be awesome! :)

Also, if you can recommend me some high-quality white hat services here on bhw, it would be amazing..

A: I usually send normal links to category pages and I let the best links for the homepage and the best products.

A: of course no, start with content, and after a few days you can start sending some social signals, and a few links.

A: you could do both, starting with your own linkbuilding strategy, and then add some links that similar to the ones used by your competitors. You can pm me if you still have questions.


Anyway, consider it as any other blog you built before, and try to go slowly when it comes to off page seo to avoid penalities.

I think you are right, I should take it slowly from the beginning and will focus on on-page SEO and interlinking along with high-quality texts.
