How the hell did this site sell for 36K?

I think you guys are totally way off base here. The website made 36k because of all thous secret cupcake recipes.. I mean gluten free ti-chi that shit is worth hundreds alone... There are literally hundreds of recipes in there so I mean it basically pays for it self. For get the paid advertisements, or adsense or even the well placed amazon banner in the footer(pros put there amazon banners here for mad conversions). Its all bout them cupcakes, BABY!!

The site is essentially getting most of its traffic from social sites. So it is not dependent on Google. So, the buyer has confidence that Panda or Penguin updates can only do good to this site.

Personally in this post penguin environment I wouldn't be jumping to buy any site! I will be waiting at least 6 months before I go looking for a site.

Ehhh, as long as you offer value you will rank high in google. Penguin hit shitty sites almost exclusively, and can you really blame google for wanting to keep their results clean?

As for the cupcake blog, yeah, cupcakes are a huge but fairly saturated market. It's clear from her writing that she is smart and passionate about the topic, and that's why she succeeded.

Selling for 2.5x yearly revenue is not a far stretch on any viable business that can grow and has additional monetization potential

Cupcakes are the "in" thing right now, I'm sure they can monetize this much better than presently

Usually the lowest price it's 12x months, but it can be even higher sometimes, like 36x months profit..... I've seen others sold for 72x months also, it depends on many factors

One man's trash is another man's treasure. And in the world of Internet Marketing...another man's treasure is exactly that ;)

So...big pictures, with link underneath to the real source and you are a content creator? Hmm...very interesting.

They are nice pics tho. ;)

I believe that the buyer of this is a cupcake store owner and going to use it to sell his products online so it will make much more money than the current revenue.
Also, it has twitter followers that can easily can earn from their traffic.
Further, there is more than 50k inbound links that will be increasing once he uses it for more and more traffic

I am noob in IM but that what I know about it :)
anybody has other thoughts please share.

Pretty impressive. The seller must have been very passionate about the topic

People have short term memory. When i see stock chart of facebook, i smile. This is no different, just wait a couple of months and that buyer will be on flippa trying to sell.
