How much would you price a course?

Hey there!

I'm about to start advertising a course on the marketplace and I'm thinking of an optimal price.
About: Etsy Print on Demand
Quality: Decent (I'm a 6 figure seller, I know what works quite well)
Length: 1 hour

I'd appreciate your answers (based on personal experience if possible).

You can price it $499 and you'd still make sales with a great sales copy. And you can price it $49 and still make no sales. It all comes down to the perceived value of your course. If you think people can make good money and replicate your results and if you are able to convey the quality of your course in your sales copy then charge what you think should be the right price.
 
Pricing anything usually depends on these factors...
  • What your competitors are doing
  • The value of the course
  • Your credentials/credibility/experience on the topic
If you look to answer these questions you´ll be in a much better position to, not only price your course accordingly but to get the most out of it.

$67 I think is a fair price, making it affordable for people that seriously want to get started and not be too expensive.

Yeaaah, don't want to be an asshole, but we probably have a different understanding of a '6 figure business'
Everyone who has sold 1 thing on etsy knows that their fees are out of this world, so realistically it becomes more like 10k$/year profit at best, correct me if that's wrong of course.
 
Put in the maximum you believe you can sell it for and before your thread goes live the mods will tell you if you need to adjust the pricing.
 
It is borderline impossible to help you price something that is not even seen by most yet.

Price it as you see fair and if the staff thinks it is not fair, as @GringoMonkey stated, they will communicate that to you.

That is correct, but it also depends how much work you want to put into it. I've been quite lazy and barely uploaded anything new and sticked with the same designs (I uploaded a lot recently though and I'm expecting great results this Q4). If you really want to work your ass off and scale this, you can easily make 20-50k/year in profits (which is not huge, but a great side hustle).

Fees are 20% overall, but it's a great start for most people, considering that you're getting a lot of organic traffic (if you sell things that are trending).
Still a great opportunity for people that have no experience in ecommerce and want to get started, Etsy is just too good to ignore if you're a beginner.

I actually made an organic sale once for the price of $67, so I'm sure this can be doable. I don't want to charge a lot either, I think it's a d*ck move.

Hmm obviously the last post of mine was for sarcasm, but really.. It does depend on the course itself. In my limited experience, I have seen discounts working great (e.g. strike through a big price, and make the lower price pop to user’s eyes). Like you said, don’t charge them too much, or you will get charge backs. Charge honestly. How much would you pay for the course yourself? ;)

I'm not a fan of strikethroughs, when I see them I consider them straight scams, especially when someone claims a 10X discount, there's no such thing, ever (probably that's because I do Digital Marketing as well and I know how this works). I ask the others because I'd personally never buy a course, I'd rather use free info and learn on my own, like I actually did, or use a membership on Skillshare and learn from there at a much cheaper price.

But as you said, it all comes down at the quality of the info, I'll just price it at $67 - even though my initial thought was to make it $27 and make it affordable for everyone, but I think that's selling myself too cheap as well.
 
After thinking for a while, I'll price it at $47 for now, it will be reasonable for most.
