Greetings all,

Still a newbie here.

I currently pay ~$70 USD every three months for web hosting where I have one main website and a sub-domain of that website.

The host is GoDaddy.

Is this too much? Should I be searching for better options that are cheaper? The only concern is that my website is huge, with lots of content, images, etc.

Thanks!

From Godaddy? yeah its too much lol
If you want unmanaged vultr/Digitalocean would get you fast servers & still have spare change left at that rate.
if you want managed, WPX/Rocket or even kinsta (but their SSD are a lil lacking) otherwise, somtehing like cloudways would do the trick really.

~$25 a month hosting at godaddy is just yuck

Web space is important for "lot of" images and contents. But if you don't have "lot of" traffic then you don't need too much bandwidth or CPU, RAM etc. Do you VPS or shared hosting?

You're throwing money in the trash can called Godaddy. Keeping the price aside, they are among the worst web hosting companies. I don't know what you mean by huge as some people consider even 20 GB space as huge. If you can setup and manage VPS yourself, then go for Digital Ocean. If you can't manage it, then go for Cloudways. If you don't need much space and bandwidth, then check if a shared hosting fits your needs.

GoDaddy always been shady AF you paying way to much

I used Namecheap for a long time but one day decided to try out some free hostings because most of my projects are not very complex. I suggest you trying Infinityfree. Been hosting with them for 3 months and no problems. They also have easy free SSL integration.
If I'll run into problems in the future I'll try to edit the post.

I pay $5 a month for a legit vps, so all of you guys are overpaying lol
Same.

Wp Engine's cheapest plan is 300 USD for year LMAO. They are reselling Google Cloud with a custom user interface.

Are you paying for shared or dedicated hosting?

70$ is too much bro

Unless you are getting a SHIT TON of traffic and/or hosting tons of video content on your own server - you are paying WAY too much.... Seriously - you can get great hosting for your one site plus subdomain for about 1/5th of what you are paying

You are right, but VPS always will be a good choice due to price, is just question of looking for cheap vps...

Right.. VPS is the best choice... if you configure it well you can have better performance than 70$ yearly.

Exactly my throughs

Why using Web Hosting? When you can have good web hosting for less than 5€ month + LiteSpeed or 1.5GB RAM of VPS for 11.88€ year!

Web Hosting LiteSpeed for less <5€ monthly!
https://alexhost.com/litespeed-hosting/
VPS for less than 15€ yearly (most of shared hostings have 1GB RAM or less).

Super cheap vps lol, you can get it for 11.88€ easy..

Look at others like:

What company
You didn't see my post above?
https://alexhost.com/vps/
Just switch yearly to monthly and you have 4€ VPS, but with the current promo of alexhost you can have that vps for 11.88€
4€x12months = 48€, with their promo you have 4€ vps if you pay yearly for 11.88€.. which is 0.99 per month..

if you don't have much traffic I guess its a waste of money, I'm hosting my site at $3 for a year, and it's fast and reliable
