how much is safe to have in paypal?

basically the title guys>>>

i have been selling alot recently and have quite alot of money in my paypal.
my paypal is a personal account, not a business account but it fully verified with my bank account.
should i stay below 10k? as i know paypal likes to limit accounts for no reason.
any advice would be great

10k? You mean 10k USD? I wont keep even 1k USD in my paypal. I just keep enough money to apy for subscriptions and just in case I need some thing to buy from the internet thats it . Rest ill withdraw to the bank. Dont keep so much money in your account. IF they limit your account you cant get your money back for 6 months.
 
Id say ahve it as a business acount just in case. however. my suggestion regarding so many scary stories from members, as soon as u get money, take it out. You never know when paypal wants to screw u
 
Im not sure if is safe to keep money in PP as I read a lot in this forum, there are a lot of people having problems, so my ad is if you can cashout better u do and keep your money safe under your bed :D.
just let the necesary for paying, domain, hosting or some cheap service you will need on the go.

thanks for the advice. yea 10k USD. i better get it out asap! i gota pay for some stock outa that, but most is profit. i was gona let it build up and lift it all at once. but ill just lift it now. thanks again :)
 
$0.00 is "safe". Every single penny you put into PayPal is a risk since they limit accounts at random.
 
Turn that into a business account for starters and unless you need the money in your PP account, you should be pulling money out on a regular basis. I generally keep between 500.00 and 1000.00 in there and I have a verified business account.
 
Roughly $0 is safe in Paypal. Apart from keeping money in there to buy shit and pay your expenses, I would advise withdrawing as much money as you can to a REAL financial institution. Paypal's not a bank and you're not protected legally in the same way you are when you put your money in the bank - Paypal will take your money when they feel like it and you will have to jump through major legal hoops to get it back (if you can at all).
 
haha in the time it took me to type out my post, about six people replied all basically saying "Paypal sucks." :D
 
why would you keep money in there and not just withdraw it? all paypal risks aside, wouldnt you want that money in your real bank account? why let someone else hold onto it and earn interest when you can be the one that does?
 
I leave $100 in it at all times in case I need to pay extra for shipping on eBay, that's it.
 
I keep $0 in my paypal account. Anything more than that is too risky

Good point in moving it to your personal account for interest but if you are a guy that buys and sells a lot using your PP account then you need to have the money in there for cash flow reasons.

I believe the OP does business on ebay and needs the money in PP for that purpose but I could be wrong.

If you give PP all the true info about yourself, don't do anything shady and communicate with them, you generally will not have an issue where your account gets limited.

That being said, they limited me once and I had to call them as well as provide to them some information about myself such as utility bills and what not.

The only reason they limited me was because I had a large sale and it was unusual activity in my account... getting in unlimited took about 20 minutes.
 
Be careful drawing it all out at once too, they've been known to limit people for such actions.
 
sucking paypal dry is safe, they lock accounts even if you have $18 in them... LOL

well, you got a lot of reason, why you should go and withdraw it all the $$$ you can, ;) and just risk U$ 0.00 into your PP account.
now is your turn to tell us, what in the name of GOD r u selling or doing, the time your doing what your are doing, that you have that amount of $$$ into your PP account.
for today just checking my PP account just I have U$1.95 as a Bonus from PP, Im not sure why But I think Im going to use it before gone. :D
 
Dude, the cardinal rule of paypal is to never give them the opportunity to steal you money. Take all of your cash out right now!

Personally, I withdraw all my money when I get to $250 or more. I would do it for every dollar, but PP likes to limit accounts that withdraw every day. So try and withdraw your money at least every 2-3 days.

Don't become one of these sob stories you hear all over the internet "OMG PAYPAL STOLE MY MONEY".

Don't do it, get your money out now.
 
withdraw all while you can

link a cc and you have a way to pay for stuff, never keep money in paypal, and I would sugest to have at least one paypal account free in the case they try something
 
id let it stack up 2, 1000 and then withdraw .. withdrawing 2 much can raise flags
