Hey guys!

I have a niche website based in Brazil, written in Portuguese. I don't feel that my English is good enough to write articles for the US market, so I chose to write in my native language. Besides, this is my first niche site built with a focus on SEO.

The problem is that my niche doesn't have a lot of searches. In fact, in Brazil, even hot topics like "pets" don't get 10% of the search traffic they get in the US, despite having a population of 240 million.

My niche is a type of furniture, let's say "gaming chairs." The main competitor has been online for 8 years and gets around 20k visits/month (estimated by SEMrush and Ahrefs). Although their site is not great, they thrive because there's not much competition (less than 25KD in almost any keyword).

E-commerce in Brazil is relatively big but not comparable to the USA, so niche affiliate sites don't make as much money. With such a small audience, even AdSense won't generate much cash flow.

So, I ask you guys: how many visits/month should a niche site get? Even if I get 20k visits/month like my main competitor, is it worth the effort?
