Hello

i have my eye on a domain name that is expiring today, in a matter of hours actually. Do i need to wait for sometime after it expires or it can be bought like the minute it expires?

Your input is much appreciated, Thanks.

Pm the owner.
my boss is the owner, the hosting company asked for an outrageous amount to renew it so we decided to let it expire and then register it again through another company. so it seems we have to wait for 30 days now :\

Go here and just add in the registrar.

i have downloaded backup of the Emails and etc folder from the hosting and would like to put it on a .net domain name with the same name, but i don't have the old email passwords and as far as i know to do successful migration for email addresses through cpanel i must create the same email addresses on the new server with the same passwords, any way you know of that will enable me to do that without having the old passwords? Thanks.

It turns out passwords don't have to match to migrate the old emails backup, you just upload the mail folder and if you have the same email folders on the new server you will get the old emails transferred without an issue.

BTB you may close this thread, and god bless and gives you good health my friend.

Why not just transfer the domain to another host?
This is a very dangerous game you're playing.
If that domain is any good, you'll never be able to register it again!
Professional domain hunters will scoop it up before you can.

30 days. but you should migrate it to another host. com domains are ~9$/yr.
contact a decent host and tell them you want to migrate, they will handle everything.
Else, domain will be suspended for at least 30 days, you may loose it.

Instead of letting the Domain Name expire, why not just transfer it to a new registrar?

Of course, it's water under the bridge now!

You all better hope that Domain Name IS NOT one of the Domain Names I am targeting; if it is, "I PROMISE" your boss won't get a chance, and I mean not "1" millisecond to re- purchase it!

And by the way this WARNING has been heralded on BHW countless times < NEVER but NEVER purchase a Domain Name and Hosting (with the same company) under no circumstances!

See what their refund policy is; read and understand it as if your life depended on it.

If you can re-up the hosting package, transfer the domain, get a new hosting company and then refund, go that route.

And, next time tell your boss to read the renewal rates!!!!

Hi you guys, i appreciate each and every reply i got from you <3

So here is the thing, no one will end up buying the domain name even if it was available, its the name of a local business and has nothing to do with internet marketing at all.

I 've been hired recently and found out that we are paying 10 times the actual cost for the domain name and hosting for this particular domain name ( it comes as a package from the hosting company ) - ofc i tried to move the domain out but they refused to do so [ the hosting company, they don't even give access to accounts for their customers just wordpress, you believe this shit? ], then decided to let it expire and then repurchase it using another name registrar, guess what? They hosting company renewed it again, without us paying the invoice so that they give us no other way to renew it again without paying them.

I then suggested to my managers that its in our right to sue the mofos but they preferred to just pay the invoice and be done with it and thats what happened.

Hosting company simply extorted us.

we paid and now i will demand that they point the dns and migrate the domain to any other hosting company.
