How Instagram rank hashtag?

How now a days instagram ranking hashtags. I saw hashtags rankings with few likes and comments on top. Like 2M hashtag ranks with only 300 likes and 3 comments. Anyone have idea how this thing works?

If you see posts with so little likes ranking for such huge hashtag, it probably means they won't be anywhere near the top for long.

IG, when ranking initially, sees your ER from the people that have already seen and liked your post. If the % of likes of your photo from your followers is high, Instagram will put you close to the top few rows and then you will probably decrease as the bigger accounts and newer posts replace you in time. I've noticed this time and time again.

It depends on which pages are engaging with your posts, if big pages will engage with your posts, then you have more chances to rank on those hashtags

I've ranked with my personal 9k account today on a 800k tag, at top21 now. Mine got like 500likes atm and the rest are 2000+
