How important is Domain Age?

I'm considering buying some expired/deleted domains but it seems that the price would be a lot cheaper for deleted domains.. But then the Domain Age would be reset wouldn't it?

So how important is domain age? Is it as important as cf/tf?

Yes. I agree your point. Most important Domain Age for ranking factor. So, consider age and quality backlinks too..
 
Domain age is important, and CF/TF is important as well, but an aged domain with quality links and therefore good CF/TF will always be better than a new/deleted domain with the same CF/TF. The reason is because an aged domain will have aged links, and aged links pass more link juice than new links.

If you can't afford expiring domains (that keep their age), you can buy the deleted domains (that lose their age). But bear in mind that expiring domains are better, much better.
 
Age is an important factor, and I'm pretty sure previous age does matter too in case of deleted/dropped domains. I'm saying this from own experience.
 
Domain age is one of determinative factors for good runking, so you definitely shouldn't blink this fact
 
Domain Age is something that is very important to me when I pick up domains.
 
In my experience, deleted domains do take a little longer to regain their ranking power because not only has Google got to re-index the domain, you'll also have to wait a while for it to re-cache the pages containing the backlinks to that domain. But given their relative price, deleted domains allow you to build larger networks which has its own benefits in terms of variety of anchors, IPs, linking root domains and risk diversification.
 
Most Important for me when I optimize client website.
 
So i have this 4 year old domain which is PR0. although the site was mostly news and had original content, i think it was perhaps coz of KW stuffing (unintentional) or bad backlinks that the Pr remained 0. Do you guys think that i can perhaps revamp it or somehow get google to deindex the pages and rebuilt it from scratch? I mean the domain is pretty spiffy to read.

I would work on it, unless it has some serious penalties.
 
Domain age is an important factor on ranking for keywords, but you should also consider the backlink quality and amount before buying.
 
One of the main characteristic of a high quality domain is its age I recommend the domain to be at least 3-5 years old also DA of above 25 or even 35 if you want the real gems, make sure the backlinks profile is clean and that there is no spam in it, you can also take a look at the site PR although if the DA, PA and TF is high PR is not as important.

There are no DA 25 sites, the first website went online in 1991, making it 23 to 24 years old today.

I have ran few tests recently and I found that domains that are still indexed will benefit more than deleted domains.

I wasn't aware deleted domains reset in age. Hmm.

Age is important--at least until the domain is two years old. Then, IMO, DAuth is King.
 
If you build a websites 2 years before and never penalized by google, it won't be penalized again in near future if you don't promote them again
