Stretching an article just to have more chances at getting ranked is the wrong way imo. With reduced attention spans, gotta give to the point information. 1000 words is still the sweet spot.

word counts do not dictate my writing anymore, rather i first assess what is currentlly on the ranking page nd i write something more relevant nd valuable than what they are offering. sometimes it turns out to be between 1,000 to 1,500 words and sometimes more than 2,500 words. it all depends on the need of the topic.Some SEOs say 1,000 words max, others go for 3,000+.
