You can't force anyone to be your lead or your customer. That's not how it works.

As was said earlier, focus on your actual intended userbase. If I came to rob a bank, I'm not going to sit with one of their bankers to open a checking account.

Dude, you would be spinning your wheels trying to convert bots as those are the majority of leechers on sites. Doing that manually is tedious and arduous at best and anyone that would do that on a manual basis needs a philips head screwdriver for loose screws in their head.

Target those that are lower hanging fruit and your time and energy will be much better spent.

This is also a great point. The leeches may not even be actual people.

@GideonKe, you're not going to monetize someone else's bot. The best thing you can do is probably just block the bad bots. If you use Wordpress, there's a plugin called Blackhole, that you want to look into.

What type of content are you talking about, what are they copying? you can send dmca to get those pages removed from search. But its a never ending process, you have to keep doing it once in few days, but they will keep copying they wont care.

Bottomline you cant kill the leeches or trying to make a conversion out of them that easy with all type of stuffs.
Example with video content : Lot of leeches where taking a video hosts links i put first on net form some stuffs, what i did was i created my own host & started updating in it. i started earning from the leeches sites. Then i slowly introduced watermark in the middle & got some of the leeches traffic too.

I would suggest you to concentrate on your main goal instead of thinking about leech.

Do you publish original content?(Not judging, just curious)

As a matter of fact no, i leech from the main source which other leeches are too lazy to do, they just want to take the final stuffs that are leeched & ready to be copy pasted, So the leeches leech off me "the 1st leech" who figured out a way to make the other leeches bring in the traffic for me via their seo, its my choices & my life i dont care about others judgements .
