No idea how people make money on linkedin, have tried searching the forum, couldnt find anything, or I'm blind..

Anyone wanna give me a brief idea?

LinkedIn is all about B2B. Create a service that you could see a business using. SEO services, consulting, social media, etc!
sounds good mate, and search more surely have linked in making money method . . .

I believe LinkedIn is for generating trust on others and in business world and let people know all about your services, the only best way to earn is open one small services and get some real followers on your company page and start the work from there.
Good Luck!!

I agree with Daswebrofl. Linkedin is B2B heaven. Find an industry niche. Invite as many targeted connections as possible. Then soft sell a little. Find a high ticket product or service and carefully introduce it to your connections. Follow up hard with the people who respond with interest. If you don't want to follow up yourself then hand off the leads to someone who does and split the commission.

Search for people, who are same in your niche. Build your network and then post your offer to them gradually.

One of the best things to focus on with LinkedIn is the idea of selling the "gold pan" instead of mining for gold.

What I mean by this is that back in the day of the gold rush the people who made the most money were selling the tools rather than trying to mine themselves.

Since LinkedIn is FILLED with:

A) People looking for jobs

B) People looking to sell B2B

The best way to monetize would be to sell a product or service to those individuals, or have a content site that focused on advice for them.

As mentioned above, the products that are most suited to be sold on linkedin are generally aimed toward businesses and B2B. It's a bit different than most other social media sites.

best thing you can do as you seem to be just starting is concentrate on a niche that's b2b related and grow your connections, you should find plenty of info on BHW how to grow your linkedin connections as well as exchange groups and tools for that. Grow your account first, make it look good and professional, fill everything in after that you can start profiting.

Groups are pretty good too - as you get to email them with newsletters. Just make them appear neutral to start when growing them!

liknkedin is a social community , it has a different taste , but --

I always thought it's about endorsing, and only a Job platform for job seekers. I never considered making Money with Linkedln, but i think, i would be looking into the B2B and see how i can generate income on this.

Thanks to OP for creating this thread! Learn something important Tonight!

Really helpful , I have question about what policy is followed to write on Linkedin .
thank you very much .

Linkedin is a social networking site for professionals and those looking to expand their B2B network. You cannot make money directly from Linkedin but you can look for a possible employment by posting what you're good at and letting interested employers seek you. You need to make your linkedin profile good - upload photos, update your profile and add friends that can vouch for your skills.

It's already been said that it's about business to business but it's fair to say that most members do little to promote themselves there. The way to make yourself stand out is therefore actually really easy on LinkedIn- make posts relevant to your business regularly. As I say hardly anyone does but most professionals DO log in regularly. So by posting something regularly you are in their face regularly. It's an under used network in my opinion.

From Years none has contacted for having business in SEO and most people in the list are in same niche. I never got any response from anyone on Linkedin.
