How do yall find clients? For Web development.

Portfolio is very important.
When I had started, I had a word document will a list of websites to showcase my portfolio.
I used to attach the doc with my proposal, and it did help a lot.
A simple website will be good to start.
You can host it for free on GitHub if it's a static site.

yes i will. i chose to use netlify just because i more stuff when i deploy the site
 
When I offered web design services these were my sources of obtaining clients without investing:

- Google Map
- Facebook Marketplace
- Infoproducts products

I only made a publication with the title web design, the same as the image of get the website for your business

And I sold the Astra designs with Elementor in WordPress. It took me 1 to configure and that's it, I charged between 150 to 250 USD
 
Cold call small businesses with terrible or no website. Make a few portfolio sites for restaurants, contractors and other popular small business and hit the phones and emails like crazy.
 
I'm looking for a web developer that can appreciate anonymity. Nothing illegal just want to remain anonymous. Simple stuff, half-a-day or less projects at most, If you think it makes sense lmk and I will message you when I have the permissions lol

Don't underestimate word of mouth - company i used to work for often needed day-of landings made on-the-fly. Probably something we could've done with a simple webservice but we always hired and paid last-minute rates for simple, non-expertise-needing projects many times a year
 
You need clients first to take advantage of word of mouth but yes a well put together referral strategy is a fundamental pillar of any business

I found Upwork to be more legit than Fiverr. I was able to avoid more personal information via Fiverr
 
Fiver, and do ad from fb, ig, linkedin, fourms etc

That's how the system works the worker submits proposal prior to the interview process.

I don't use the freelance platforms anymore to find work but to outsource.

My reply that you have quoted here is about how it started 15 years back.

As a newbie freelance platforms are good place to start.

If you hate spam you shouldn't be trolling and spamming targeting individuals this forum.

Traffic suggest its market growing and getting bigger day by day. You gotta do your own market suggest, I don't have that information.
