How do proxy Services work?

So I'm currently in need of proxies in bulk, so I started looking around at the proxy section here on BHW and I saw services such as

But I'm confused.. Am I paying $30 a month for 1 IP address? That seems a bit.. Dumb?
If I'm scraping something, making 10 requests a second that IP will be banned or put on cooldown after 2 seconds.

Then what? I only have that IP? Why not just use my IP which will be banned / put on cooldown just as fast.

I don't think I understand how these services operate.

That single IP is the backconnect (master) proxy you will use to connect to their proxy network.

You set this proxy IP in your app (browser, script, etc) and then send requests to it. And once your requests reach their "master" server, they get distributed through multiple IP addresses that rotate (either on every request or after a set period of time).

Yes, few request that no need, easily set time-out will be fine...
but if you want to grab *00 GB data from one website, you will take year to get those data

I’m getting conflicting information too - some sources claim anything other than rotating backconnect isn’t even a viable notion. Other sources say you are a basically a fool if you use anything other than static residential proxies for some sites and don’t expect to get banned.

Also - does your own local ip get added to the ‘pool’ like generally or does this depend on the particular service?

When scraping, you need a pool of IP addresses. This is because website owners ban IP addresses that create suspicious traffic. This is mostly the case for scrapers. Your requests should come from different IP addresses to avoid getting flagged.

Before you choose a proxy, you have to consider the limit, the number of requests you'll send per hour, the destination websites, and the proxy management tool. Note that proxies are usually paid monthly for maintenance.

Datacenter proxies are usually sold as a package rather than per piece. For example: a proxy package for $10 may come with 10 private proxies (depending on the provider). Basically, the price is $1/proxy (1 proxy = 1 IP address). These are best to use if you need to utilize the bandwidth and throughput that your proxies can handle. It's also faster in terms of load times and solving captchas.

When requests are sent to a residential backconnect proxy, it assigns a different IP address for each request then forwards it to a target website. This is great when you're sending a large volume of requests per hour.

The main difference falls on the bandwidth or thread limit. Residential proxies can be more expensive on a per-bandwidth basis.
