How do I remove spam followers from Instagram?

Hi. I own a business where I design and manufacturer camera lenses. And I use Instagram for posting photos taken with the lenses.

I have noticed in the last few days that my account is getting a considerable amount of fake spam followers all day long. Probably about 500 a day or so. It seems the most recent ones, the peoples names are like Bob Bob or Bill Bill, John John, Sam Sam, Joey Joey and the pictures used by the accounts are mostly half naked girls, and they all have 1 photo pointing to a website called elitegram at least the ones I see now have that site.

I have no clue how this happened. I have not paid for them.

I have considered changing the username of the account temporarily. Would that help? And for how long should I do that?

What I need is to remove all the accounts with just one photo, or 0 photos, is there a service which can make people unfollow me with a set amount of minimum photos? Like all of the fake ones either have just one photo or 0. They have thousands of followings and hardly any followers.

I just want to remove them.

I will be changing my username temporarily to see if it calms down.

What can I do to remove the followers who are fake?

IGExorcist doesn't work, it says I have 10,000 followers who have been inactive for 180+ days but all the ones I checked out have photos posted within the last 48 hours, so it's not right, and I don't want to remove 10,000 people when they aren't fake.

I just want to remove the ones with 0-1 photos. How do I do this?

Ok so I just changed the username for a while and the fake followers still came in. I left it changed for about 25 minutes, they kept coming. So I also remembered I uploaded 3 photos 2 weeks ago, which it could have easily started within 2 weeks ago, the 3 photos used very very very popular hashtags like #beautiful #igdaily #instagood and some others. I was testing how it would do about getting results compared to using my normal hashtags which are not as popular as the ones I used in those 3 photos. So I deleted them and I'll see how the problem does after this.

I've been having the same problem. Last few days been getting 1000s of fake followers. I've tried removing a lot of stuff from my bio and such, changing my name, but nothing seems to work. You figure it out yet?

(1) Go to the page of the person you want to block. (2) Click the gear symbol in the top right corner of the page. (3) A menu will pop up that says "block user" and "report user"

I'm having the same problem with these spam accounts. I gain about 200 a day.

Changing the username will make no difference. The people behind the spam accounts gets them to follow specified ID's - Every account has a certain ID and it's not possible to change that unless you create a new account. Extremely annoying!

Usually Instagram will remove the accounts after a month or so because their system will recognize the accounts as spam.

If you really want to stop it, set your account to private and only accept those that are non spam. That being said, having a private accounts is a lot harder for business.

I'm having the same problem and it's infuriating to block each and every one (getting about 60+ /day). Where are they grabbing my username from? Hashtags? Bio? Or is my username just in one of their databases? I stopped hash-tagging my photos yesterday in hopes that will slow it down. Theres gotta be something I can do to at least slow it down.

I haven't been in the Instagram game,but why do you guys mind some extra followers?Aren't they going to make your account seem more popular?

Not when you risk to get banned, a guy I know got banned cause of recieving like 1000-2000fakes a day ... People noticed this and reported him.
And he was not in the bots and other stuff... Just a legit acc.

There is no reason to not allow these followers other than the fact that someone potentially viewing your following list might suspect you're buying followers.

I've got round about 10k followers on instagram, but only a few a real. Now I want to remove all the followers that have less than 2 Photos, is this possebile?

Me too!!!! Ah I really need to remove followers with only 0-2 photos,or little followers with big following or last post in more than 70weeks ago. But I can't find the way. So sad. Because even my friends can be a ghost followers because they never like or comment on my instagram, they just see my instagram but do nothing. And I don't want to remove them, it's rude I think. But if I use application or website to remove ghost followers then friends like that will removed too,right? And I don't want that. Please tell me if anyone find the way. It makes me upset

I don't think that changing your username is the solution,once a month or so instagram will clean the accounts that are fake so my advice is to wait a little longer

They have your ID extracted in their bot and you cant stop those fake followers unless you restrict who foolows you but that will have negative impact on real followers

To get rid of spammy followers from Instagram you need to use igexorcist tool, this tool will compare the engagement of Instagram followers with the accounts you follow in last 300 days and gives you a result of fake and spammy instagram followers, after you get list of accounts block those accounts from settings in Instagram.

You can use a free tool called IGexorcist.By signing in into this app,and use request rebuild option it will scan all the followers,and give a result of spam followers.
