I can check if google update is helping or hurting my site by monitoring chnages in my website traffic, keywords rankings and google search console data. If i notice a sudden drop or boost around the time of an update, it might be related. Comparing before and after performance and looking at which pages gained or lost visibility can help me understand the impact.

You can also view the data for a single page or keywords in Google Search Console and monitor the changes.

To determine if Google updates are helping or hurting your site, you need to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze data, and correlate changes with update timelines.

Monitor traffic, rankings, and Google Search Console data before and after updates to assess impact and identify changes.

Monitoring traffic, keyword shifts, and Search Console data around update dates is a smart way to gauge Google's impact on your site.

GSC helps you track your site's data and performance, you can also track traffic through analytics.

That’s pretty much how I do it too. If traffic or rankings change right after an update, it’s usually a sign. GSC helps a lot checking which pages went up or down gives a good idea of what Google liked or didn’t.
