Hi all,

I have often seen websites like ytmp3.cc or hundreds of similiar websites like webp to jpg converter, jpg to png converter etc ( you get the idea right) and similiar websites which often perform a programmatic ( computer programming) job for the user for free. In return for that they have their websites filled with Google Adsense ads and even native ads like Taboola & Outbrain on the webpage.
I recently saw that ytmp3.cc has 4.1 million organic searches every month. Every month 4 million plus people come to their website to convert youtube videos to mp3!
Wouldnt that generate a huge amount of conversions for affiliate offers?

My question is on a SEO point of view. How much effort in time and money does it really take to build a web application like that and have anyone of you tried building such a website to promote your affiliate offers?

I used ytmp3 all the time.

Here's my tip for you.
To create such a website, post a job opening in a web development community. Someone will develop such web app for you. Simple.

The biggest problem with conversion sites is they're expensive to run - the bandwidth to pull the video and the CPU to convert it is not cheap at scale. You'll lose a lot of money in the early days where you have a few users using the service and no real revenue coming in.

Thank you for the reply but I was not looking for info regarding how to build such a web app. I was looking for info regarding how difficult the SEO aspects of bringing traffic to the website would be.

That is a good point, I had forgotten that aspect. But, doesn't AWS and Google Cloud have free plans which could be used to run initially for atleast a few months?

Build backlinks, share on social media.

A free plan from them wouldn't last a lot with that intensive usage.
There are a couple of ways to leverage from the existing websites offering a service from free to reduce drastically the prices on infrastructure.

Just wanna know how sites like ytmp3.cc make money
They put either popup ads, or another banner on the site, that advertisers pay to show their ads on, via a third party company.

On AWS free tier you get a shitty configuration(1gb ram and 1 core CPU i think), and when server load get over 75% the instance is closed automatically.
I hosted a simple scrapper with 1 thread and my instance got closed on few hours.
But with google cloud free credit i think it will work, but is available just for 90 days(otherwise you will spend the credit quickly than 90 days because you need good processing power and memory for this project)

I didn't understand the above sentence. Can you rephrase in a simpler manner please?

It's ez to make. To make profitable is a different question. There are places that offer "Unmetered" bandwidth. I think FDCServers.net does.

Edit: You know, everybody puts ads on those sites but I wonder if a cheap subscription model would work for a Video scraper/downloader/converter.

Edit of edit: There are times when I get pretty desperate to use one.

I am assuming you are talking about SEO. So my question is: In effort basis how much difficult is it to do SEO to build to reach that level of organic search results? How many months would it take to rank for such a keyword in SERP1

I edited my reply. Please refresh. Idk about the ranking. Would have to research competitions.

I doubt a subscription would work, there's too much free competition. Even if there were no other online services, there's still plenty of free downloader programs

Super easy to make (i mean code). I've done ton of shit like that in weekends.

It is winner take all. Unless you rank #1 for the keywords - you aren't going to make any money.
