How did you start making $$$?

If it wasn't for this thread I think I would have forget about this. When I was 9 me and friend of mine were arcade addicts spending money on Double Dragon and Contract mostly. We had a scam where we put paper in public phones. The plan was simple, people put there money (quarter ) in the phone, it didn't work because of the paper stock in and we will come back everyday and unstuck the money with a knife. So that was a way for us to support our addiction.

I sold pepper spray to the dancers at all the nude bars on the weekends. It paid my way through college, but the best part was all the fringe benefits (wild parties, hot girlfriends, free admission to all the nude bars, and I hung out in the dressing room).

When I was in Jr High I used to sell low quality weed at premium prices by spraying a little perfume into the bag lol. This was 25 years ago so I'm not ashamed to bring it up this late in the game.

Funny part is...it sold like hotcakes

I first earned money by doing chores, mowing, etc. Spent most of it on guns, coins, and knives until I discovered the internet. Christmas 2006 I noticed while shopping on ebay for my dad a new remote for christmas (the old one was wore out) that you could buy 100 of them at a time and make a few dollars. So that's what I did. Pay $1-$1.49 for each remote, sell for $7-$8, and end up profiting about $2-$3 each one. I think I ended up buying around 300 remotes, don't remember for sure. Still have some good ones in my room...if anyone needs any Dish remotes, hit me up!

Also, while selling remotes I also bought an old used iPod and a few months later noticed that (at the time) you could by a ipod for $30-$50 with nothing wrong but a dead battery, spend $5 fixing the battery, and resell it for $80-$125. Eventually, I started buying stuff in worse condition and loosing money, and the broken ipods got more expensive and the working cheaper. Want some advice? NEVER take apart a nano LOL. If anyone needs old ipod parts, hit me up lol

haha after reading i just remembered... To start, I noticed the "joc" of the school was selling warheads (you know the sour candy)...i decided to give it a try...he was selling them at 10 cents a piece...

So what would I do? I decided to have my dad buy teh candy (no overhead) and sell em a bit cheaper. I bought the HUGE tins of them! Believe it or not I would have kids coming to me during class saying stuff like "i want three blues and a green"

I was easily paying off snack cart everyday! You know a bag of chips and a drink. It was awesome...o yah and i got free candy!

Then one day over the loud speakers, while i was on the playground, the principle said that he had heard about the candy selling and told kids not to buy anymore!

So i stopped...

Long story short, although the "joc" was popular, he was a stupid salesman.

This was in THIRD grade...hahaha!!!

I used to go steal a 12 pack of coke then sell it to construction people working outside on the street for a dollar a can. (8 years old). then take the profit from it "re-invest" and do it again. Don't know why I ever stopped I was making a killing

How old are you? I charged $20 a yard in 1980.... And did 15 yards every Saturday. That's how I got my first bad ass motorcycle.. It was a Honda CR80.. Oh yeah and I had lots of cool... Not so cool now... Atari video games and tons of vinyl for my collection... And then by 1984 I upgraded my motorcycle to a Yamaha YZ 125, and I never charged more than $20 dollars a yard, but in my neighborhood most yards were 1/2 acre.

Well you did better than one of the models I know that modeled for a site and got a check for $0.12.. Yeah that site totally scammed her... LOL.. Also, as this is the female half of the team, I would like to know, what could I do if someone used my images on a website to make money without permission? Like I didnt sign a release for my images to be put on a sales site. Any ideas?

When I was 7 or 8, I made my dad buy candy for me. I then put two chairs in front of my door and opened a little store from which my mom, brother and sister bought some chocolate bars and stuff. I didn't make a lot of money, but it was fun.

I put up an autoblog 2 years ago. I saw serious potential in a niche that hadn't blown up yet. Then, it blew up. That sight brings in anywhere from $200-$1000k a month depending on how many times Google slaps me (then lets me back). This site is truly hands-off. I just check up on it every so often to make sure it isn't hacked.

That was a nice start especially at 7 or 8 yrs old.

In relation to my booze receipt scam,I posted previously, this was a little bit more riske but instead of just getting the item (booze), this method generated cash and serious amounts of it too. Also involves shopping receipts (I just like receipts ok ). I would just roam the streets looking for receipts of anything. Then I would go to the department store the receipt was printed from, check the item on the receipt, and take that item off the shelf go up to the counter and get a refund or at the very least a credit note. Don't know what the laws or legal obligations are like in your country, but i was making as much as a fucking judge with this method. I mean you didnt even have to find receipts on the street -obviously anywhere would do- at home after buying birthday, Christmas pressies etc. etc. To minimise the risk of capture, I would travel all over the country doing this and it would be quick in and quick out (no need for proxy servers with this one !!). Ireland isnt very big btw . You name it Dublin, Belfast, Galway, Cork, Kilkenny all got fleeced on regular intervals throughout the year. Yes this method was fucking beautiful, I actually enjoyed it. Also, They can't do you for this as the checkout person essentially has authorised you to exit the shop, well i think so anyhow; wouldn't know much about getting caught!
This method also like the booze method also worked smoothly, based on the principle that if it looks like you are doing nothing wrong, nobody suspects a fucking thing. Like the checkout person has left it up to security to make sure nobody is stealing, so as long as the item is shelved out of view of the checkout, all the security cameras see is you going up to the checkout with the item to be "purchased" in your hand. Nobody suspects nothing. Beauty!!

8.50E for 20 smokes. 6E of this goes straight to the government!! Same packet in Russia or any Eastern block countries -50c!!!!

Was desperate when I was 13 so I took up a paper boy job...was the most soul-crushing thing I ever did, especially since it was in the middle of the British winter lol.
Then I set up a site and did click fraud on some of the smaller PPC networks...(not Adsense), earned me enough for a laptop and a racing bike. I've stopped now - it's not scalable and def. not long term.
So that's when I joined BHW and read like hell, the things suggested are looking bloody promising now! Thanks to all here !
