Rank is only part of the equation. Google itself will tell you Impressions and average position in webmaster tools. Bing has similar tools. This is actually more important than rank because its about the traffic you gain and the impressions. If you rank #1 for "red carrot mustache" it doesn't matter. But if ranking #34 for "gaming reviews" gets you thousands of impressions and hundreds of hits it is more valuable to try to gain in that term.

Usually I Check them with serps.com The tool is very expensive, so I use only the free version that it has. Other than that, I also have Rank Tracker from link assistant and serpbook. All of these services are great. I've noticed that serps.com has more accurate results than the others but the price is a ripoff!
