How about publishing content on blogspot?

Hi, guys
I hope everything is going well with you guys. I saw some threads that the advantage of Blogspot has declined, someone said we should create a website with WordPress or buy a hosting plan.
But I'm confused that the Blogspot belongs to Google, if we publish the content on it, Google will give more traffic to Blogspot other than other sites.
I wanna buy a unique domain, and then I will connect it with Blogspot.
Did you guys try it?

I witnessed custom domain hosted on blogspot in serp. But, hosted on blogspot alone won't advantage in rankings but crawling and indexing are always fast as that is a google property.
 
you are late to the party, like 10 years
blogspot ranked extremely well back then, but we have abused it to a point that ranking a Blogspot is extremely hard
it was way too easy to create a couple of blog spots with some "content" (mainly just keyword stuffing) then redirect to the money site and boom instantly rank position one
 
Google will not give more traffic to your Blogspot blog for the sake of being a Google property, you're only sure of getting bot visits to your blog, we mistake this for traffic in our early days until you try to monetize it and realize you're not getting quality human traffic as much as you thought.

If you've heard that the advantage(s) of Blogspot has declined, yeah, I concur, real sites are not built on the Blogspot platform as we do in 10 years ago. Personally, I don't read Blogspot pages, and the same thing is applicable to some other people, many people would not take you seriously.

You may have trust in custom templates, but that would not do much good.

Just because Blogspot is Google's property doesn't mean it will give it a better ranking, it only means that you'll have a better chance to get faster indexing, as this is something that became an issue lately. Blogspots don't have any real quality anymore and it's pretty hard to do proper SEO for them, so in this field, WordPress will always have the advantage and it will simply give you a lot more features to use and offer you a bunch of plugins for working on site's optimizations, so I wouldn't go with Blogspot in this point, it's something that belongs to the past, really.

Just because Blogspot is google property it doesn't guarantee quick indexing and more traffic. if that is the case, paid WordPress domains would not be this common. To generate good traffic in Blogspot the frequency and the quality of the articles has to be high, it does drive traffic but it is short-lived so to retain such results one has to post regularly. Whereas in the case of WordPress domains, the results retain longer making it more suitable for the common business group.
