Hostinger | Web Hosting vs WordPress Hosting - Budget $120 for the year - for a wordpress site

Ive done a ton of research but I just can't get over this hurdle - Web Hosting vs WordPress Hosting... Hostinger seems to get mixed reviews but is doing pretty good at late, especially for their price point.

Are their WordPress servers optimized for WordPress or I'm I better off paying for "Business Shared Web Hosting" and getting someone to SSH in and optimize everything for me(or do it myself).

OR do you guys recommend a better hosting option for my budget - speed and uptime is my priority... e-commerce with a blog in fashion.

Budget $120 for the year

With that budget Go with a managed VPS: Cyberpanel+Openlitespeed will give you great performance.
Just keep your backups synced to grdive with free plugins like updraftplus you won't regret.
Vultr high frequency with cloudways managed service is something you can check.
 
You get what you pay for.
If you want to make sure which one is really better for you in terms of speed and performance - start 1 month with one provider and than 1 month with another provider.
After such testing decide what is really better for you.
 
If you have some tehnical skills, go with VULTR.
 
Simple and fast SSD VPS will do the job better than WP hosting for sure.

It's better to get a VPS (SSD or NVMe) and install a panel like Directadmin (Most of us offer it for free or $5 monthly)
Then install Litespeed (They have free plan if you have low RAM)
Or just install Nginx

That's it.. you will get much more performance than a shared hosting

+1 for getting a VPS, WordPress works great with OLS,
you can use some good free panel to make the process of installing even easier,
make sure to optimise the website (theme, pics, etc...) and increase cache TTL (1 week at least) for both server and user sides
You can get a super-fast website by doing so,
all the rest depends on your website traffic, pages size, theme & plugins and VPS provider
 
Vultr/linode vps with cyberpanel is your best bet. Lots of tutorials on youtube about it too.
 
VPS SSD is much better in speed and uptime.

I recently joined Hostinger on their basic wordpress plan, I have to say the difference in page loading speed was amazing. You don't get cPanel as standard though but the UI seems to have everything you need. The only downside is the customer service is a bit slower than I am used to but I can live with that.
 
I have 3 of my WordPress websites on Hostinger (business plan), and I have been using the company for over 2 years. However recently around February, my websites started experiencing longer load time and frequent downtime. I did my research here on this forum and on other review websites and found out I'm not the only one experiencing these issues. I conducted a test with Vultr and decided to give it a try. I moved one of my sites to Vultr and to be honest the speed went over 5x that of Hostinger. I'm also considering moving the rest of my websites to Vultr soon.
 
Keep hostinger as a second option. It's tier 3 hosting.
Can you secure vps against hacking, attack etc.? Can you manage a vps ? have you ever managed a vps? Have you worked as an SA?
If the answer is no, then keep it as a second option and get a free vps and learn how to manage a VPS.
If you have a budget you can also get managed VPS.
Or else keep looking, there are a few fast tier 2 shared hosting that have popped up.

You mentored that you had read some reviews. I would say that you are going to have your own story with any provider you decide.
So if you agree with pricing and like the service - just give the company a try and see how things will go.
Just do not pay in advance for the whole month at the beginning.
 
I set up multiple websites on one host and seems working fine and the support are just amazing A+++++
