We all have good and bad experiences with all hosts. I think Namecheap is better than HG.

i've tried both. i live in Europe and Hostgator for me was too slow. I didn't have any problems with them, but my sites speed was too slow so i decided to switch to Namecheap. Not rocket fast, but still, not as slow as Hostgator. I'm good considering what i'm paying.

I used Namecheap about a year and then switched to Offshore seo vps and still with them for last 2 years. Cheap plan and instant customer support on website is the real deal and like this badly.
