how long does it take for the payment to arrive? or you are paid every month at a specific date?

well, that is a good point of view.... if they don't pay for more months Hostgator are loosing money if they give you 50$ to 120$ / signup....i think that it depends on how long they stay for that hosting....or not?

I just get a PayPal notice about the payments. It's usually about 60 to 75 days or so after the sale.
yeah the problem is most people stop their hosting after the first month, and I believe in order to get paid for the sale, they have to pay for their 2nd month. so in other words, if someone signs up for one month, you dont officially get credit for the sale until they pay for their second month, and if they don't pay or are even late on payment I believe you won't get credit for the sale. But if the people pay for more then 1 month I don't think you have to worry about that.

Ok imo if you can get sales in hosting why promote for another host? Why not Create your own and promote it? Creates a passive income! If you can get 30 sales a month
at just $10 thats $300 a month 30 more sales $600 a month. Not trying to thread hijack or anything i just dont see the point if you can get the sales!

Yes you can make more money doing it that way.
But, don't forget you will have to provide support to mostly people that don't have any idea what they are doing. This can eat up your time in a big way.
So it really depends on your situation as to what way is better to go.

well that is a long time.... because they can cancel your payment if the people that buy hosting don't buy for more than 75 days...

this is a good point....but imagine if your host will be down or something happens you will have a lot of people mad at you

For passive income support is worth it. Ive seen reseller packages that offer the support to your customers. Before i joined the army i had 83 people on a hosting plan. Its not really that hard to create a passive income with this. Figure theres things on the pc im sure you do that dont make you any money. The Quick dollar is great. But passive is better start making enough you can always higher some people from india to do your support!

They require that the new account keep service for a minimum of 60 days for you to get paid a commission on it.

If you remember who provides support to customers of a reseller account I would appreciate you letting us all know. That would be the best of both worlds.
I never have a problem with Hostgator but i am through CJ.
My advice is to include TID and other methods so that when they check your aff stats they see you are tracking clicks & sales etc.
Makes aff manager more weary of trying to ripp you off if they see you know what you are doing and that you are tracking and not just putting through generic aff links.

I have to add that something does smell with the fraud-overdue thing from HG. They tried that with me too but it was a friends account and it was paid on time through auto credit card draft. It was thru CJ.
I had just tried them after using JustHosts affiliate program which paid me for all 3 accounts that same month.

I wouldn't recommend affiliating with HostGator through CJ. I've had at least 30 commissions and all of them were marked for fraud. I've contacted the affiliate manager and he told me they all canceled or made multiple accounts, I told him I knew one of the people and they still have an account, so he just marked 1 as verified and got $100 of $3000+.
If you'd like to play it smart I'd do it through their affiliate panel from their website for the small $50, rather than risking $100 because they're shady on CJ like that. With their own affiliate system you can actually track your visitor's websites. Also if you get more than 10-15 sales a month you'd get paid more than they'd pay via CJ.
