Help with SEO analysis for a keyword in Market Samurai

Hi all.

I want to create a website for a specific keyword.
Here's the top 10 rankings for this keyword using Market Samurai:

#3 = digg article related to keyword
#4 = google book product
#5,6 = Oreilly related product/article
#7,8 = amazon related product

Only the first 2 spots have the exact keyword in their domain.
#2 is hosted on blogspot.com

Do you guys think i should go ahead and make a website about this keyword ? Will It be tough to rank high ?

most of the sites have less than 5 backlinks. in my book, with several quality links, you'll break into top 10 easily. if you use ezine, i'm sure you'll break it without any link.

i advise to look into the backlinks of that blogspot blog. how much backlink from unique domains to that page? forgot to ask. is that blogspot blog rank its internal page or home page?

no of backlink does not equal no of backlink of unique domain.

unless you want top spot, i'll say give up this keyword.

maybe an exact dot com domain will give u many advantages but it's not that easy. there are many things to be considered when doing deep analysis.

is the ROI worth for the amount of works? this is the most powerful question when doing seo.

you'll have to work hard to get to the number 1 postion and will take you atleast a good 6-8 months. I suggest going for another keyword.

Getting in the first 10 is not the solution, being no. 1 is

Don't waste your time, give this one up and move on.

I wish I could be pessimistic and convince you that beating 18000+ BL's is easy, but it's not. Sorry.
