Help with self hosting wordpress

Hi, I got into the hype of self hosting website and did the usual thing of getting my sites to be online ww, redirected my domains to forward .com to ://mystaticip/sitename . But now I would like my site to show url of mysite.com instead of prefix that's my ip and that would be my first "stuck" point in this question.

Second question, I read about and installed virtualbox with ubuntu in order to create vpn to secure my self hosted websites on my main win 10. So far I have gotten to the point of trying many things but ultimately stuck on the part of fresh virtual ubuntu installation.

You need to setup the DNS - an 'A' record for the domain.com and CNAME for www to point to the domain.com
