HELP!! Paypal account $2000 negative. Soc Sec # attached.

Ok, so a month after selling a virtual product for 2k I get a notification a buyer issued a chargeback with their credit card company. This is on an account with my soc sec # attached. What should I do?

Will this hurt my credit score if I do not pay? I'm in the USA btw.

What I usually do is accept payments from a fake paypal then send to my real one (this one) with no bank attached and then from this one to my main account with banking info attached. I deleted my banking info off that other one.

I do not have the money to pay this. However, my credit score is 750 with a 100% on time payment history, I don't want to mess that up.

Is there anyway to talk paypal into getting rid of the negative balance, anything I can say? I can't produce a shipping confirmation because it was virtual, anything I can do?

Please help, I've never had anything bad on my credit report before.

I was thinking of making a fake account, paying for a service to it with my main account then moving the money over to my negative account then reversing the transaction to the fake account. What do you think?

Withdrawn to my bank account. Spent along time ago, I have bills. That's the point, I'm not going to pay just because someone fraudulently refunds it.

It's been more than a month, and they just claim unauthorized transaction.
 
Naw son you owe them $2000. However, if you let it go to collections, you could settle it for less
 
Your credit may take a hit then. They could go after you if you are unable to pay and they will not negotiate.

Bummer, Dude, a tough deal.

Does anyone know for sure if it affects credit? I asked on a paypal board and some said yes, some said no it is impossible if i ask the debt collectors to prove the debt, they can't because I never agreed to any debt, then tell them it's illegal to try to collect if they can't prove debt.
 
Not much you can do with this one... the reality is that you owe PayPal the $2k. Regardless of how the debt arose (whether by fraudulent act of a third party, or not) is totally irrelevant. It's now your debt.

LOL!!

Did you use their service? Yes? Oh damn, that means you signed their TOS which means that you 100% agreed to not fuck them over, which you have done. Time to pay back the money and learn that you should keep some reserve for situations like this.

Okay here are a couple of things you must consider.

1. Telling them you gave them fake information is not going to help you at all and it's going to
make you a high risk client. That means they will most likely cancel your account.

2. No way out of it. You owe the $2k man.

I am sorry this happened to you and know how it feels. Change your business model and leave a
certain amount of money in your business to cover shit like this. PayPal sucks and the 90 days to
charge back policy with credit card companies is absolutely ridiculous, but that's how it is so you
need to cover your ass.

Thanks for the kind words at least lol. Everyone else seems happy and excited as f**** lol
 
I got my paypal hacked once, and someone used it for an unathorized transfer, it wasn't a lot (like $22 bucks or something), but I called Paypal immediately, and they reimbursed me.
 
Let me ask you guys this..... If I do pay it, and put my account in good standing again. Is there anything I can do to get them to remove my social security number?
