Hello guys,

I'm Sognugo from Algeria (North Africa).

It's been a month since I live a nightmare, let me explain :

One month ago i started with creating a Shopify store, i created the site, add products, plugins, it took me some time, but once the site is ready I just have to add a payment mode.. Bonjour the problems..

I make you a list of the payment gateways that I try to reach :

1. Stripe | Status : No | Reason : Not supported country.
2. Autorize.net | Status : No | Reason : Not supported country.
3. Paymill | Status : No | Reason : Not supported country.
4. 2Checkout | Status : No | Reason : Prohibited Product List/Acceptable Use Policy.
5. Skrill | Status : No | Reason : No Feedback since 1 month. (They ask i think for registred c.)
6. Paypal | Status : No | Reason : Paypal ask for a Bank statement, payoneer does not provide a bank statement for paypal.
7-100. Haha .. many others.

Payments gateways available for Algeria according to Shopify :

  • BitPay : I want only Credit card payments.
  • Coinbase Commerce : I want only Credit card payments.
  • GoCoin : I want only Credit card payments.
  • Ebanx : Residents only in Latin America can pay.
  • Paypal Express : As mentioned above.

Good to know about me :

From Algeria, and currently not registred company (not yet made a single sale haha).
I have a bank account in Algeria of course, and Virtual bank account in USA ( Payoneer).

## i'm currently in a nightmare payment gateway guys, it is very frustrating to be stuck at this point.

Thank you for reading that.. MERCI!

Hi there,
I'm in the UAE and Stripe is not supported. What people do sometimes is to ask the bank directly ! Some of them can directly accept payment, no need to go through Stripe.
That's the only option I know, good luck !

Hey Dereshi and thank you for the reply!

Nice to know that some bank can directly do the payment gateways, can you please share some bank name maybe ?
I'm currently working with payoneer, and unfortunately they do not offer that.

Thank you again.

Hi,
My bank is Noor Bank. They told us they can accept payments worldwide and the fees are the same as Stripe. One other solution for you is to set up a company overseas where Stripe is supported. You should meet a tax advisor for this

Hi Dereshi,

I have long look but unfortunately no bank here in Algeria, does not offer payment gateway mode.
I am always looking for a solution to my problem unfortunately..

Thank you.

Stripe run an online company solution something named atlas you can open a stripe bank account and a company in Delaware for around 500$.. Then you can make your business online easyly

Hello Griouss,

Thank you for the advise, I am already aware of this method, unfortunately this one does not really suit me.
I do not really want to have a registered business out of my country as well, for fear of not really having control and all that follows with like for example taxes.

Thank's again.

I think Bluesnap might help you here, I don't use it personally but it might worth be checking it out

Yeah but you cannot accept international cards on these payment gateways. The customer bank blocks the payment.

Hello Sus,

Thank you for your comment, Unfortunately BlueSnap don't work with Shopify and also a Tax/Registred company is needed.

Maybe change your product ? If it's not allowed in 2checkout it won't be allowed in a lot of gateways, this is same with every country. Also you can follow this advice from the web to use paypal:

"You can use VISA/MasterCard issued by DZ banks and link them to your PayPal account, you can also try to get a payonner or a neteller card"

Hello dude and thank you for the great comment,

Well, all my products are clean; for 2Checkout you must have already made sales and make a turnover, So it's not currently for me.

About Paypal, i created a business paypal account, but to start sell and integrate the payment gateways you must add a bank account and provide a bank statement.
For me as an Algerian, paypal don't accept african bank, so i must include a European (SEPA) Bank account.. and that's a problem.

Btw as mentionned above, i already have a payoneer card and so a virtual bank account, but payoneer don't give bank statement for paypal.

Thank you again!

You can create a paypal account as a Philippine and accept payments. You only need a debit card from a bank so that you can withdraw payments.

I do not recommend 2checkout becaus there were many complaints about their service

You can use Carthook App for that

Hello, thank you for your comment,

Unfortunately, bluesnap ask for a Business ID Tax, and 300$/month for CartHook i think is a little expensive.

Hi Tizzu,

Sadly sooner or later paypal will ask for documents.. They will see that i'm not a phillipen citizen.
Thank you.

Hi Tizzu,

Thank you.

Just go with PayPal now make some money and then make business ID, after Paypal blocks you, go with bluesnap. 300$ per month is nothing once you start to make money.

Also paypal won't ask you for document if you keep your balance low and sales volume low. Use Paypal to pay for Facebook ads, so that you will have cashflow as well and your balance will also be low.

Don't sell any product that is related to certain event like Christmas, Valentine Days etc, all my dispute in Paypal has occurred because of selling these type of product. And I think you should be fine after this.

you should try FastSpring.com , they are pretty good and through them you can accept Paypal and CCs easily. I do not think they have any country limitations, but their support is top notch, so contact them if they reject you.

try perfectmoney and also cryptoccurrencies

Hey DarkPixel,

Thank you for your comments, i asked FastSpring but unfortunately they do not manage shops that sell physical goods.

try perfectmoney and also cryptoccurrencies

Hi,

Thank your for your suggest; regarding perfectmoney i do not find them really powerful but also aesthetically adapted to what I want and what I want to offer.
Regarding to cryptocurrencies; unfortunately i'm only looking to CCs solution.

Hey again Sir Sus, your opinions are very helpful; you have a good suggestion, but to be honest i do not plan to register a business as early, so i'm looking for a semi-permanent solution.
Thank you again!
