Well, that's the point. And a strategy.
However, one can also and nothing prevents from doing both, create subdirectories also. Should I need to specify that?

weightloss.bestforyou.com - bestforyou.com/weightloss

yes I like the idea with subdomains, have different content on them or create them to redirect to your main com site?

As I wrote hetin my last post , bloomberg news site why they not use a bulk of subdomains ? They buying in bulk root com domains ,they not doing this without any thoughts on their mind.

A root com domain has more weight in seo as a subdomain when you try to gain more organic traffic with mispelling and keyword variants in the domain.
