Hey guys... I've been doing SEO on my website.
It's in the debt relief (debt settlement) field - nationally.

It's a decently saturated keyword market.

When I started I didn't know too much about SEO, now i've been on these forums and have been reading through thousands of threads and tips, ideas, techniques, etc.

I use, xrumer, scrapebox, AMR, linklicious, linkpushing, etc.

I finally got to page one for one of my keywords in the end of january. But because big G changed its algorithms at the beginning of this month and lowered rankings for sites with the keywords in their URLs, i went down to page 5 for that specific keyword. I am now on page 3 (after 2 and a half weeks).

I was at 12,500 backlinks almost a month ago. I have added at least 20k more backlinks of which im drip feeding through linklicious and instead of getting more, im losing them at YSE shows 11600 now.

    I'm stumped...

I've been on page 2 for a major keyword for over a month. Page 4 for an even more major keyword for over a month and nothing is really changing substantially.

I need to get this to the top immediately. I would love some advice. Maybe my onsite seo is bad (but aside from a few minor tweaks, i think im pretty good)... maybe my offsite backlinking is weak, but i add thousands of high pr and low pr backlinks monthly and drip feed through various methods including

profiles, posts, blog comments, social bookmarks, article submissions (8 articles per month to over 500 directories).

i use linkpushing service for building pyramids.

I have not done linkwheels yet.. am thinking about it.

Don't know what else im really missing...

I will gladly pm my site details and major keywords to anybody willing to help out.

If somebody can finally help me reach page one for 1 or 2 keywords... i will gladly pay you as well if necessary... im very tired of doing SEO for so long and not getting any traffic.

I get maybe 1-5 visitors a day right now for being on page 2 and lower for keywords that get from 100k - 400k monthly queries....

Thank you guys... hope somebody can help, any advice is greatly appreciated!

    pm'd.

I'm combining all three hats for this project.

My links used to be relevant but now not so much. I used scrapebox and have gotten my backlinks on all sorts of sites.

Dozens of thousands of Domains from PR 1-7. Almost 10,000 URLs from PR 1-6 (means the actual page itself has a high PR).

Xrumer also, I have profiles on over 1k domains with PR 3 - 7.

    Over 20k profiles/posts on domains with PR 0 - 7.

My site is now about a year and 2 months old.. but I think google still sees it as under a year... anyway to check this? (i use traffic travis and it shows 0).

Your main mistake is focusing on just one site. If you want big traffic that is resilient to shifts in the algo, you have to build LOTS of sites and build them all differently, so that for each algo shift, some sites will go down and some will go up. That means doing your site structure, on page seo and backlink building differently for each site.

If you focus on just one site, you may get top results for a brief period but you will inevitably go down again. It's almost impossible to stay #1 in a really competitive niche.

There is also a point of diminishing returns for each site you build and the 80/20 principle is in effect - the first 20% of effort and resources you put into site building and link generation will net you the first 80% of the results. So, it's better to have lots and lots of sites and just put that first 20% into each one.

Part of it is you are in a field that everyone I know is doing seo to their site.
Debt, Taxes, Insurance, those are all tough fields. Top spots sell for hundreds of
    thousands.

i agree with you. but this is not a site for small banking purposes. This site - if on page one, will bank harder than 100 sites combined because of the nature of it and my intentions with it.

I have a few other sites - some microniche, some not, but this one is the most important for success.

I agree with you, it definitely is difficult. But one of my friends who now ones of the the biggest debt settlement companies in the US, did SEO to his site for 6 months - paid a company 3.5k a month, and theyre on top for many very difficult keywords - getting 2k visitors a day - generating 40 leads a day from organic alone, not to mention the mass PPC campaigning hes doing.

But im just trying for organic. And he hasnt had seo done to his site in months and hes still on top, with far less links than me, and ive seen his SEO company reports, and theyre no diff than mine.

One of the biggest differences I do see, is that he bought his site from register . com for 1k because it was "premium". Now i look at it, the domain is 9 years old. Thats the only thing I can think of why big G likes him - seniority and "authority".

So anyway, any advice for this site specifically would be great.

I'd be glad to pm my site info to anyone who has a few minutes to take a look at it.

    Thanks so much guys!

Google algorithm shift targeted the sources of your backlinks, which is why you see lose in rankings. Those low quality article directories, have been hit, social bookmarking pretty much useless after recent updates, web 2.0 websites used for linkwheels for piramides and linkwheels, hit again yesterday - hubpages especially.

So the problem is that you are building links on websites that are getting hit massively - because everyone was doing the same thing.

If i were you, i would change the source of backlinks, and go for the more cutting edge stuff:

aka nr of mentions of your url on twitter , especially retweets by reputable accounts is a new and good seo indicator, beating backlinks.

instead of anchor text backlinks, try some brand anchored links, like domain.com as anchor text beats anchor text these days.

Seo is changing. Keep on top. The methods that work nowadays, you will probably see posted here 6-12 months later.

retweets... hmm thats a good idea. A little annoying working with twitter in my experience and opinion, but obviously social media is very important... regardless if twitter is pure spam at this point.

So big directories like articlebase and Ezine are still effective i take it.

Can i still do profiles or posts? I guess for PR 3+ now?

Scrapebox for commenting is useless now then? Ill obviously be using it for a lot of other things, but its primary function is now useless as well I guess?

And youre saying yesterday big G took down pyramids and wheels?

But how do they track pyramids? or is it that because of lowering effectiveness of forums and blogs, that the link juice is pretty much crap for the main article or web2.0 site and doesn't count nearly as well as it did b4?

Sorry for all these questions, but any clarity on this situation would help me rework my strategy.

Google did not "take down" pyramids and linkwheels.

This year started hitting content farms. Yesterday there was a new update, affecting about 12% of ALL keyword searches. This is a BIG update, think about 12% of all google results means. Check their official blog for the announcement, or check out techcrunch.

In this update, google hit hubpages, ezine articles, and most article directories and content farms. This means that if you had links on them, your links have been reduced their value, or deindexed - which is why you see the nr of backlinks decreasing, and your serps decreasing even though you continue building links.

mmm tbh, ive been stupid and avoided ezine articles since the beginning (after working with it when i was doing seo for another company) because of their annoying process to submit new articles. Since the link juice went down, should i still do it?

I'm guessing yes i should, because ezine is still the largest and most popular, but just in case - since it is technically a link farm - im asking

What went down is their ability to rank,. Not really their effectiveness in terms of backlinks

i don't think any amount of sb comments or xrumer blasts will get you ranking for a keyword like that, you will need high PR authority links from homepages IMO.
