saw another guy on the bitnami forum with the same issue where this problem occurred after installing the facebook plugin and this happened to me after installing the mailchimp plugin, followed all the steps to connect using filezilla but failed

Look at your error_log file in your root folder.
I'm using filezilla, I went by adding the public dns, setting the protocol to SFTP, logon to keyfile, username:ubuntu and the pass as the .pem file but keep getting this error
Error: Disconnected: No supported authentication methods available (server sent: publickey)
Error: Could not connect to server

As mentioned you need an access to your server to check the error logs and see why you have an error 500
Max exec time, PHP memory, or a missing PHP module can lead to such errors.

So regarding the access to your server are you sure you installed a key based auth for your SSH ?
If you add me fast on skype I would be able to help you through team viewer.

Not sure from that error. Would have to do more investigation. This is why you should pay for a managed hosting company, so they can fix it for you :)

managed to fix the issue

Care to share the details on the fix so others who have this issue can see it?
I just cloned that existing instance, accessed the server using filezilla added -2 to the MailChimp folder and edited the inbound rules custom tcp rule and port 8080
