The title says it all - I've identified a great domain name to buy with all the required attributes for a success: exact keyword domain (one of .com/.net/.org), 4 years old, indexed by Google etc.

The purchase price will be a few hundred dollars via escrow.com.

This is the first time I've bought such a domain - what do I need to do to make sure (a) I dont get ripped off, (b) the transfer of domain does not result in a drop of the registration and (c) anything else??

BTW - the existing site content is crap, I dont want anything on it content wise.

Advice from experienced domain purchasers would be GREATLY appreciated.

Escrow.com is safe and a great service to be using, make sure the domain isn't expiring today. Are you getting the domain pushed to the same registrar? Aka Moniker to Moniker? Personally I'd have it pushed to an account on the same registrar (even if I don't use it) and then handle changing it to my preferred one myself.

thanks. domain isnt expiring for some time
