Instagram has launched a new "Silence" feature aimed at improving the focus of users. After enabling the feature, notifications will be disabled, your profile activity status will be changed to "In Silent Mode", and those who write to you at this moment will automatically receive a response in private messages.

“Teens have told us that sometimes they want to take a break from social media and are looking for more ways to focus in the evening, during homework, and at school. You can easily set Silent Mode to fit your schedule, and once the feature is turned off, we'll show you a quick overview of notifications so you can keep track of what you've missed."

The new feature will be available to everyone in the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, with other countries coming soon.

What do you think about this? Will you use this feature or is it easier to set the "Do Not Disturb" mode on your phone? :)

heard of it but no idea how it helps people!
There is DND already :)

I like it, but people will surely just turn it off?
I prefer DND with exceptions for certain people if I'm busy.
Saying that, I deleted all personal social media, except LinkedIn and never looked back. Can't undelete even if I wanted.

mine sharing why you deleted all your social media accounts? I have been thinking about it myself lately.

DND is the one stop solution for the phone no meaning to have silent mode just for instagram

This is such a serious step in our time! You need to be sure to share this experience with the world. Do you have more free time now? What are you spending it on? No kidding, I think it'spretty amazing

Do you think DND helps people to be more focused on work, school, other things? This is a serious problem these days

i personally love screen time, but not necessarily the phone. to be honest, phones feel like a waste of time as soon as i pick it up. i have A.D.D. so i forget why i picked up the phone in the first place because i'm distracted by notifications.

but more importantly: HOW DO WE MONETIZE THIS FEATURE?

Nope won't use that as I want to see the messages that people send me on my business account.
