Hi fellow members,

My news approved website's traffic is decreasing every day. I recently checked the bounce rate and it was around 92%. Any suggestion that which type of keywords should I rank for or how to decrease the bounce rate?

Need concrete advice here.

Thanks and Regards!

You need concrete advice but you are providing generic information...

Analyze your page->keyword combos and see if you are providing the exact information the user is looking for. Put yourself in the skin of your users.
Name an example (you can use a different equivalent niche to illustrate the idea if you are scared of sharing your niche)

Factor nr. 1 - Content.

Create content that makes people want to spend time on the website. If the website is badly optimized/content is badly written/not interesting, they will leave real fast.

If your bounce rate is too high, you should probably install additional plugins that would help increase the visitor's interaction to your website.
For instance, 1) install a related post plugin, and make that related post plugin very visible and only show related content, and that would make the visitor to click on that, which should reduce bounce rate in the process.
2) Install a pop-up plugin - make an offer to the visitor, or make an offer which requires them to key in their email into the pop-up, or show some related promotional offers or content on that pop-up, and if the user interacts, that will also decrease bounce rate.
3) Install an automated internal linking plugin, which interlinks related anchor texts to the related article - so as the visitor reads the article, and found that they may be interested in that particular keyword, they can just click on that, and with the click in place, it will also reduce bounce rate.

It's content plain and simple that needs some adjustment.

I read a lot of news online and have a bunch of news sites I visit daily (some much uglier than I) and some more than once a day.

I go to the site, right click on the stories I want to read and end up with a bunch of tabs and then read tab by tab.

Something is missing with that bounce rate on a news site and it absolutely has to be the content.

Appreciated Light Proxies.

Will try to use them once the content is fixed.

Just add random porn videos to your site, that will stop them bouncing.

Haha, I imagine that amount of traffic will crash my servers :p

If the site is in English PM it to me and I'll offer you some thoughts... it may not help but I may be able to give you something from a reader's view.

Years ago when I was a proper noob, I used to just iFrame games into my websites (mostly forex sites) and they did serve their purpose of cutting down bounce rate. Also working with casino sites, using free play iFramed slot machines certainly helps with bounce rate and rankings over all. Maybe you could add news videos and things?
