Why would someone visit a website when the AI can tell them what to buy? I think tech this powerful, which some say surpasses the invention of the wheel, won't be held back by laws and regulations. If anything, AI will probably drive and accelerate economic inequality. The rich get richer, the poor get poorer.

Wait until all of the SEOs here realize that the new search experience is just going to rip the content directly from a web page and display it within the conversation.

And what will this generative AI do once people stop blogging after Google kills them all? I think people need to stop blogging for a day so that it makes some noise at Google.

The article itself says Google uses input from the open web to generate its content and to generate updated content it needs to scrape from somewhere.
