Guys: Kindle is the Ticket!

i'm quite interested in this method since i read it a while ago but i'm not from US
is there anyway i can get a US bank account outside of US? i assume all amazon seller need a US bank account by reading the amazon FAQ, am i right?

How are you hitting 700+ downloads on your free days? I'm using every "free kindle books" site I can find and posting on all facebook and twitter pages and I can't get more than 200 downloads in the 5 free days.
 
It all depends on the type of book. The best I've done so far is 400+ free downloads with absolutely no outside marketing.
 
This is really interesting man, thanks for the share. Never thought you could do much on Kindle.
 
Question: I don't have a bank account located in the US and my country is not listed on the bank list, is there an alternative way to set up payment information?
 
Just got my first Kindle eBook published today - 11 thousand words, which I wrote in a week. Quite proud of my achievement and am hoping to get plenty of downloads when it goes free. Also got another 75 page eBook being outsourced, and am 1/3 of the way through my second self-written title.

Realistically I am aiming for $200 per week by the end of the year...

How long did it take you guys to see your first sales?
 
Some books immediately after the KDP promotion is over, some books a couple of days later. It depends on the book. Curiously, the best selling title I have I only marketed on KDP free for one day.
 
Sweet thank you. I'm going to hold off until the start of next week doing my KDP promotion as I want to make sure I've got my book set up to post on as many "free kindle" sites, Facebook pages etc as possible.

Amazon checks every submitted book to see if the content is available on the web. Sure, you can get by the filter a couple of times, but even after uploading and being on sale for awhile, you can still get hit for plagiarism.

It's so much easier and safer to outsource, there's really no reason you need to steal content from blogs.

Great thread Godbluth, I have one question regarding your outsourced work that I haven't yet seen you answer. If you don't mind sharing, how is it that you check the work you've outsourced for plagiarism?

Can you list a breakdown of the invest costs you neede to get a book on the market of lets say 200 pages and one brakdown for 20 pages book
Just the costs - and the places you would advise us to source for those workers and tools to do it

OP said he done everything by himself except for the content outsourced (in first post)
he mentioned that he used odesk for 99% of his work, and he paid the least from $5 for 20+ page ebook, and highest he paid was $49, but the price relies on the content quality, he done the ebook cover by himself too using stock photo
you can pay someone to do ebook cover for you on fiverr for $5, check your content uniqueness at copyscape.com, proofread the content yourself or hire someone at fiverr to help you

Got my first book up!!
But it's weird.. I also chose to publish it with the KDP Select 90 days thing, but when I look for my book now in the Kindle shop it shows the price, it doesn't say it's free. Why is that?

This took me a while to figure out. I'll break it down Barney-style for every one to understand:
1)Go to your bookshelf.
2)Click the box next to your title to highlight the box.
3)Click the drop down menu that says "Actions" next to Add New Title.
4)Go to the very bottom of the drop down menu where it says "Manage Promotions"
5)After clicking on it, create a name for the campaign and set your dates.

You will have to re-publish after you do this, and it will usually go live for free around midnight PST.

I hope this helps you. It took me a while to figure this out.
